"We haven't received any notification of this kind," said Margaret Kashmir, a spokeswoman for Strategy& - formerly Booz & Company - in an email, adding that serving clients in China and globally continues to be the company's main priority. "We are unaware of any government mandates," added Bain & Company spokeswoman Cheryl Krauss. A McKinsey spokeswoman did not return a call seeking comment. A spokeswoman for BCG was not immediately able to comment. The companies have large operations in China, the FT reported. McKinsey, BCG and Strategy& all have Chinese state enterprises as clients, the newspaper said. China warned this week it would retaliate if Washington pressed ahead with allegations that the Chinese officers hacked into U.S. nuclear, metal and solar companies, including Alcoa Inc, Allegheny Technologies Inc, United States Steel Corp, Toshiba Corp unit Westinghouse Electric Co, the U.S. subsidiaries of SolarWorld AG and a steelworkers' union. Officials in Washington have argued for years that cyber espionage is a top national security concern. The May 19 indictment was the first criminal hacking charge the United States has filed against specific foreign officials. It follows a steady increase in public criticism and private confrontation, including at a summit last year between U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In the wake of the charges, Chinese media labeled the U.S. government a "high-level hooligan," while officials in Beijing accused Washington of "double standards" on issues of cyber spying. China also said it would investigate providers of IT products and services to guard "national security," and "economic and social development." It also banned new central government computers from using Windows 8, Microsoft Corp's latest operating system. Richard Yeah I know American hates China, but really what for? China took your jobs? Well China didn't ask for it, its your Wall St. bankers and CEOs who outsourced American jobs to China and other countries around the world. China steal your secretes? Let's see American government come up with some/any evidence first. So far there is only allegation and no proof. Not the first time American government and prosecutors go after innocent people, or make a big case out of nothing for political purpose, against everyone including America's own citizens. China taking over territories? Give me a break. Japan declare the same air defense zone in East China sea for years and when China declared the same defense zone, it's China that's causing trouble? China controls Taiping Island in Spratly Island in the heart of South China Sea since 1947. Way before Vietnam and Philippine started their claim, way before UNCLOS was ever signed. And when China enforcing their claim that has been in place since 1947, they are the bad guys and Vietnam and Philippine who are after oil and natural resource all the same are innocent victims? Not saying China is right, but come on, can you American people be more biased in handling and reporting these sovereignty conflict? China human right abuse? Who is killing innocent women and children in recent terrorist attacks in China? You think those separatist are bunch of angels? And does every country has to follow American style democracy or they are the devil incarnation? Is America totally just with all the capitalists taking advantage of average Joe? Yes Communist Party controls China, but doesn't Capitalists control American the same? China by no mean is perfect. But what has China really done to deserve so much American hate? Did they kill any American? No, it's only American who sent a missile to Chinese Embassy at Belgrade and killed 3 Chinese. Because China is rising and threatening American power? Can't there be a cooperation and a win win solution between the two super powers? Does it have to be Cold War if there are two super power? As I see it. Obama already made China enemy number #1. This stupid action of accusing Chinese officials stealing secrete does nothing but escalating the already worsening ties between China and the US. China could have been a neutral party in the US/Russia confrontation, but I guess Obama gotta have his legacy, and he gotta take on all the bad guys in his mind, when if you just think about it, and take a less bias perspective, China isn't out to get American and just trying to do what's good for their own. If only US handled this in a less amateurish manner, the confrontation could've been avoided. +13-7 alan h Seems the East / West cold war is heating up. Lots of stories floating around about banning each other and companies etc. All they have to wait for is our banking system to implode and we are done. Red China is buying up all the gold, the US is borrowing money to build aircraft carriers. Russia is building a pipeline to Red China, the US is going in circles.+7-2 Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
