The Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) needs your support to conduct academic quality research to find the truth and accurately measure the extent to which guns protect citizens, reduce crime, and save lives. Gun Control advocates are pouring money into research that will be skewed to show that guns are dangerous and should be restricted. Mayor Michael Bloomberg donated $250 million to Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health to hire new professors, many whose primary objective is to do expanding research on gun violence. President Obama has also been directing federal government fundstowards gun control projects. Still other funds are being set up, such as the Fund for a Safer Future, which has$16 million to fund gun control researchand is one of the many gun control projects being partially funded George SorosOpen Society Foundation. Recently, the MacArthur foundation has also been given a largemillion dollar grant. This public health research being funded is very flawed as are studies funded by Bloomberg. CPRC President, Dr. John Lott Jr., has already exposed the flaws in many of these studies including a report on the Analysis of School shootings funded by Bloomberg which claimed that 44 shootings occurred in schools and colleges nationwide since the Newtown, Conn. massacre on Dec. 14, 2012 and Feb. 10 of this year. Out of the 44 shootings, a total of 28 died. To dramatize their numbers, Bloombergs groups emphasized that one of these attacks occurred every 10 days. But their statistics are not what they seem. Included in the numbers are suicides. Also included are late night shootings taking place in school parking lots, on their grounds or even off school property, often involving gangs. As shootings, they also include any incident where shots were fired, even when nobody was injured. Look at some of the cases included in their misleading statistics: A student at Eastern Florida State Collegeretrieved his gun from his car when two men attacked him. One of the men was striking the student with a pool cue, and the student fired his gun wounding him. The gun was legally stored in the students car and the police found that he had acted in self-defense. A 19-year-old was killed at 9pmin a field near the Hillside Elementary School in San Leandro, California. A professor at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technologycommitted suicide in an empty classroom. A 23-year-old man committed suicide late at nighton school grounds when no one was around the Algona High/Middle School in Iowa. A 38-year-old man was shot to death at 2amon the grounds of the Clarksville, Tennessee High School. A 19-year-old man committed suicidein the parking lot of a Portland, Maine high school. No one at the school was threatened. CPRC doesnt have millions from Bloomberg and Soros but we believe we have the support of the American people. That is why we are asking for your help to fund research to counter these studies and expose their flaws. Dr. John Lott Jr., economist and author of More Guns, Less Crime decided to launch the CPRC since it is the only organization of its kind that will provide honest, accurate academic quality analysis of these issues. It is a 501(C)(3) research and education organization dedicated to conducting academic quality research on the relationship between laws regulating the ownership or use of guns, crime, and public safety. CPRC will also strive to educate the public on the results of such research and will support similar organizations, projects, and initiatives. Donations will be used to hire additional research associates, acquire data, and do research on a variety of topics that are central to the debate over gun ownership. If we could reach $500,000 it would cover costs for a year. Receive Founding Member Status by donating $50 or more today, CLICK HERE TO DONATE and choose a perk! For every dollar you give, we get a matching dollar from a generous donor up to $200,000. Poster Comment: Even $1 will help. I think this is a worthwhile cause.
