Resistance See other Resistance Articles Title: Arming for the "Apocalypse"! "Know the enemy..." These words are by the ancient Chinese General Sun Tzu in "The Art Of War" which is required reading by officers in today's military. Want to know why? Because these words are just as true today in combating enemy soldiers... terrorists... and even the threats YOU will face in a collapse of civil order following a disaster. And who ARE the "enemy" you'll face in a post-collapse environment? In a nutshell... everyone! But here are a few of the groups you need to be particularly cautious of: •Gangs - They're already armed and have no moral obstacles in the way of victimizing others for their own gain. They'll likely stick to urban areas but will quickly see the advantage of spreading their territory outward for resupply and dominance. •"Clans" - As regular people become frustrated with a lack of hope in the future, they'll abandon our officials. New informal leaders will emerge who will put a voice to the frustration and others will follow them. These new "clans" are guaranteed to take arms as a show of strength. (A good parallel of formation - though much more than a "clan" - is today's Tea Party movement. But the clans I'm talking about will be very "militia-focused" in a collapse.) •"Zombies" - Not the flesh-eating kind. Fact is, the concept of "prepping" isn't shared by 99% of the population and these people will be the most desperate once government aid is financially choked out - wandering around looking to beg (or take!) what they can... even if it's by force. You already know it's true... That in a post-collapse environment, it's "eat or be eaten". Threats will be everywhere (even in a short-term disaster) and "knowing your enemy" will make you more aware and able to spot the signs of a threat building up before it hits your doorstep. But one thing is for certain... When they come, your "enemy" will be ARMED! When these threats are staring you in the face... when there's no law and order to count on... and desperation turns even every-day people into blood-thirsty "takers"... ... YOU need to be armed too!
