The Forward

A coalition of Cleveland Jewish leaders are protesting a graphic mural painted on a gas station wall that depicts a rabbi performing a controversial circumcision ritual.

Anti-Defamation League regional director Anita Gray, and Cheryl Davis, chair of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Community Relations Committee, slammed the mural as anti-Semitic.

“This outrageous and deeply offensive anti-Semitic mural has no place in our city,” Davis said in a statement. “We need to stand firm against this kind of hatred.”

The mural appears on the side wall of Biggie’s Foodmart and gas station in Cleveland. Written above the graphic image of are the words: “Talmudic Priests in Church: Sex With Minors Permited [sic].” It apparently depicts the metzitzah b’peh ritual, the controversial practice in which a mohel sucks the blood from an infant’s penis after circumcision.

The gas station owner, Abe Ayad, refused to comment.

Local leaders have spoken out against the graphic, noting its potential impact on children. One of the graphics can be seen from the playground of George Washington Carver elementary school Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson denounced the mural in a statement: “There is no place in Cleveland for this inappropriate image and I am urging the owners of this establishment to remove it immediately.” If the owners of Biggie’s do not paint over the mural, the Cleveland government plans to “explore all legal avenues,” news reports said.

So let me get this straight: the image is offensive but the very act itself isn't offensive????????

LOL

They do it. What is it, decent, moral, and hygenic?

Seems like a psychotic and Satanic thing to me. If a non-Jew doctor wanted to suck the dick of an infant fresh after a circumcision, gee, I wonder what would happen and what the ADL et al. would report through their controlled Jew news.

Sounds dumb enough to run a campaign on. Is it really true, you suppose? Is there grant money available?

Several babies have died from it as well.

My daughter has a Jewish friend [female] who is on a personal crusade against it, God bless her. She [the Jewish friend] tried to talk one of her Jewish girlfriends out of doing it to her newborn son, but failed. The baby died of an infection. How ironic is that.

It's genital mutilation of a child and child abuse imo. Thank God people are waking up to it.

Infant Responses to Circumcision

The baby began to gasp and choke, breathless from his shrill continuous screams....

"...Another perspective on the infant’s response to circumcision pain is provided by Marilyn Milos, who witnessed a circumcision during her training in nursing school:

We students filed into the newborn nursery to find a baby strapped spread-eagle to a plastic board on a counter top across the room. He was struggling against his restraints—tugging, whimpering, and then crying helplessly. . . . I stroked his little head and spoke softly to him. He began to relax and was momentarily quiet. The silence was soon broken by a piercing scream—the baby’s reaction to having his foreskin pinched and crushed as the doctor attached the clamp to his penis. The shriek intensified when the doctor inserted an instrument between the foreskin and the glans (head of the penis), tearing the two structures apart. The baby started shaking his head back and forth—the only part of his body free to move—as the doctor used another clamp to crush the foreskin lengthwise, which he then cut. This made the opening of the foreskin large enough to insert a circumcision instrument, the device used to protect the glans from being severed during the surgery. The baby began to gasp and choke, breathless from his shrill continuous screams. . . . During the next stage of the surgery, the doctor crushed the foreskin against the circumcision instrument and then, finally, amputated it. The baby was limp, exhausted, spent.

There is disagreement among physicians about using anesthesia during circumcisions. Prior to the mid-1980s, anesthesia was not used because infant pain was denied by the medical community. That belief has changed among many physicians, but an anesthetic still is not always administered due to a lack of familiarity with its use, as well as the belief that it introduces additional risk. ...."

Mothers Who Observed Circumcision

"I didn't know how horrific it was going to be."

"The screams of my baby remain embedded in my bones and haunt my mind."....

....Some mothers have written about their experiences with circumcision during the previous year. “It was as close to hell as I ever want to get!” one wrote. Another related this memory:

My tiny son and I sobbed our hearts out. . . . After everything I’d worked for, carrying and nurturing Joseph in the womb, having him at home against no small odds, keeping him by my side constantly since birth, nursing him whenever he needed closeness and nourishment—the circumcision was a horrible violation of all I felt we shared. I cried for days afterward.

Melissa Morrison was having a difficult time seven months after she had watched the (nonritual) circumcision of her son:

I’m finding myself obsessing more and more about it. It’s absolutely horrible. I didn’t know how horrific it was going to be. It was the most gruesome thing I have ever seen in my life. I told the doctor as soon as he was done, if I had a gun I would have killed him. I swear I would be in jail today if I did have a gun.

Two other mothers have reported to the Circumcision Resource Center that watching their son’s circumcision was “the worst day of my life.” Another mother noted that she still felt pain recalling the experience about a year later. She wrote to her son:

I have never heard such screams. . . . Will I ever know what scars this brings to your soul? . . . What is that new look I see in your eyes? I can see pain, a certain sadness, and a loss of trust.

Other mothers clearly remember their son’s circumcision after many years. Miriam Pollack reported fifteen years after the event, “The screams of my baby remain embedded in my bones and haunt my mind.” She added later, “His cry sounded like he was being butchered. I lost my milk.”

Nancy Wainer Cohen recalled her feelings connected with the circumcision of her son, who is now twenty-two:

I heard him cry during the time they were circumcising him. The thing that is most disturbing to me is that I can still hear his cry. . . . It was an assault on him, and on some level it was an assault on me. . . . I will go to my grave hearing that horrible wail, and feeling somewhat responsible, feeling that it was my lack of awareness, my lack of consciousness. I did the best I could, and it wasn’t good enough......"

www.circumcision.org/mothers.htm

Add to all that the incomprehensible trauma of the death of one's child, PARTICULARLY after subjecting him to that. It would drive me COMPLETELY out of my mind.

Another Jewish Baby Gets Herpes From Controversial Haredi Circumcision Ritual

Metzitzah b'peh Chabad closeup"In March 2013, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) received a report of a new case of HSV-1 in a newborn male attributable to direct oral suction [metzitzah b'peh]. This is the second such case reported in New York City in a 3-month span and the 13th such case since 2000."....

...and why aren't these rabbis on a sex offender list somewhere? one law for them and another law for us naughahydes :)

"...Turn to Sanhedrin 54b to see just one of the many Talmudic discussions of pederasty. Rabbis Rab and Samuel are arguing about sex with children. Rab's words are followed by footnote, as follows:

Pederasty with a child below nine years of age is not deemed as pederasty with a child above that. (2).

We now turn to Footnote 2:

I.e. Rab makes nine years the minimum; but if one committed sodomy with a child of lesser age, no guilt is incurred. Samuel makes three the minimum...."

www.public-action.com/christmas.html

Christians who don't want to bake a cake for gays get sanctioned by a court, but rabbis can commit child abuse, sex with a minor, and serious illness and death, and the ADL defends them and calls anyone opposed: Anti-Semitic [when most Jews aren't even Semites]. Insane world they have created.

Yes, all in the name of religion. And you have to wonder how something like that gets started.

It's a form of separation. The whacked ones (as Lod puts it) are chosen by (insert deity) and therefore retain (insert deity's) marks. This is one of my problems with Manifest Destiny and many forms of exceptionalism: pretty soon one actually begins to believe that there is magic afoot and one can do no wrong.

Better to nominate oneself for being exceptional on the basis of actual traits that have value, like talents acquired, accomplishments with such talents, and, er, foresight. At the risk of invoking yet another tired dualism, there is no "try" there is only "do."

To clarify, Yohoda was wrong. You either are the force, or you are not. Don't try to wield yourself.

How the WASP came to believe it was exceptional is a whole 'nother story.

Exceptionalism is the perception that a country, society, institution, movement, or time period is "exceptional" (i.e., unusual or extraordinary) in some way and thus does not need to conform to normal rules or general principles.

One in charge of defining normal rules might take a dim view of exceptionalism.

Truly general principles are few.

"What is?" Marx was asked. "Struggle!"

First they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Blacks, and I did not speak out because I was not a Black. Then they came for the Latinos, and I did not speak out because I was not a Latino. Then they came to my door and told me taxes were down, the streets were secure and ninety percent of conflict in society was over.

The Buddha said he didn't come to abolish the ancient Hindu religion: he came to reaffirm it. He said that the castes were so befouled that the only way to know what your path should be was to live it. (I'm paraphrasing Julius Evola's translation of the original Pali.)

I was talking about circumcision, which was primarily a religious marking. Muslims also do it. The process in which it is conducted is a separate issue, and the focus of this thread but it raises the bigger question: who needs it, and why?

I think it's a coincidence that the practice increased in the US over the past 100 years. We were doing fine without it before. But it does set American men "apart," just as it did for the others who suggested the idea.
