Title: The Winner of the Iraq War: Israel

If there was a poll right now asking Americans whether the war in Iraq was a good idea, undoubtedly the vast majority would say no — the thousands of Americans dead, the tens of thousands wounded, many with life-long disabilities, the stratospheric, multi-trillion dollar costs.

And for what? Eleven years later there is sectarian/ethnically based violence with no end in sight. The neocons advertised a swift and easy victory, followed by joyous and grateful Iraqis eagerly embracing democracy and human rights . After all, underneath the surface veneer of sectarianism and tribalism, the Iraqis are just like us, or so said neocons like Prof. Bernard Lewis. Of course, he’s far from the only one (certainly the manufacturers of false intelligence working under Paul Wolfowitz at the DOD deserve a special place in Hell as well), but I find Lewis’s behavior as an academic to be the height of evil.

So I guess we can all agree that it was all a huge mistake and everyone regrets what happened.

But that would be dead wrong. The people who sold the Iraq war to George W. Bush and the American people are nothing if not Israeli patriots. And there can be little doubt that Israel is quite happy with the consequences.

I believe that the chimp was just along for the ride and did whatever his neo-zio-con staff directed him to do.

I think Truman was the only president I knew of that was not owned and operated by others.

FDR was warned in his third term that Wallace was a communist fellow traveler and should be dumped. The decision was made to replace Wallace with a totally unknown, someone that could be cast aside by the party with no problems.

No one ever heard of Truman, so he was selected. FDR died and the party was stuck with Truman.

I tend to agree with you for a number of reasons:

43 was not as smart or politically astute as his father - 41 was a political realist and chose not to take down Saddam because he saw the consequences for America. Whereas 43 became steadily more enamored with neo-conservativism and nation building and regime change while in the WH - perhaps a reaction to feeling inferior to his father, 43 decided to "rebel" and go the opposite way? or possibly due to his Born Again religion, he was more easily seduced by the neozios? whatever...I don't think 43 was part of the cabal - he wasn't intellectually sophisticated enough to be considered one of them - Cheney, yes, but I doubt the neozios had anything but contempt for 43 - they probably saw him as their willing victim.

Why do you think that? Truman signed off on the creation of Israel.

Truman signed off, AFTER he became president.

In his diary at the time he wrote..."no matter what one does for the Jews, it is never enough".

He nailed it.

Truman was a gambler.

He liked to play poker.

The Russians never quite knew how to react to him, something that was in Trumans favor.

In 1948, he called Russian bluff by sending B-29s to Britain. Everyone KNEW they did not have atom bombs with them.. OR DID THEY? They just sat there, bright lights, heavily guarded, bombs or no bombs. Stalin was never positive. Stalin caved in.

In 1950 the US was about to be pushed into the ocean in Korea. Truman once again sent B-29s to Guam, with a non public, back door warning to Stalin that he would...NOT ALLOW AMERICAN FORCES BE THROWN IN THE OCEAN.

When MacArthur struck, Stalin had to throw in the Chinese in an effort to save face, with the stalemate that ensued.

The Chinese knew they had been used as pawns. One more reason to owe Russia.

Yep. In those days we made the big moves on the chessboard, and we were defending our interests in maintaining lifelines to our important trading partners in western Europe and Asia.

Today we struggle with leeches that are all over us sucking the life out of this country. Erdogan, Maliki, Bandar and his cannibal thug armies for example. And then of course there's Shittylittlestan that keeps us mired in the shit abroad and which stifles any real discussion of what is good for this republic at home.

You prolly never heard this one...

After Truman left office, a major company offered him $100,000 a year to be Chairman of their board. That was like a million now.

Truman named the company and told them this...I will not accept your offer because you never heard of Harry Truman before and now you are trying to buy the office of the PRESIDENCY...something that is NOT FOR SALE.

At any price.

I seem to recall a couple of Jews put up a couple of million for Truman's campaign.

I seem to recall a couple of Jews put up a couple of million for Truman's campaign.

Same ones told him to NOT run in 1952.

Baruch had decided Ike was going to be the next president and a republican at that.

As far back as I can recall, the big money always came from the jews, both sides of the streets.

Trumans grandfathers were named Shippe and Solomon.

Jew is by blood not religion.
