American leftists attack the constitutional right to bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment at every opportunity. Guns have become a scapegoat–as America loses its moral compass in a chaos of liberal relativism, political correctness, and fairness, it has become much easier to blame a gun for a crime than a person. Moreover, big government liberals take affront at the Second Amendment which was, after all, written to protect American citizens from big government. Thus, big names on the left from Hilary Clinton and Dianne Feinstein to Eric Holder and Barack Obama wage an endless war against the Constitution they have all sworn to uphold.
The same is often true at the state level where, despite frequent voter backlash, Democrats enact restriction after restriction on gun rights. But in Colorado, at least, a group of concerned sheriffs have filed suit to overturn several regulations that they say are both unenforceable and unconstitutional. And they plan to fight it all the way to the Supreme Court if that’s what it takes.
