Every holiday they jack up the prices and 'blame' it on something else.

GasBuddy showed a place a couple miles from here with 3.29 fuel...I'll be there tomorrow and then see what Costco has to offer.

It's stupid, but, 3.29 is cheap these days.

I haven't seen the prices spike like they often do on holidays. Actually, they are slightly lower now than they were when I topped off. Color me surprised.

Once I rolled into the afore-mentioned (Gulf) station, the fine print revealed that the $3.29 price was good when using a Gulf credit card...dammit.

So, I topped-off for $3.39 and took an application.

One of our local stations, often with the lowest gas prices, has been offering gas for 2 cents less if one pays with cash which I normally do. They sell lots of food and convenience items, so that may be their hook - to get customers to walk in.

I don't fall for it.

Edit: Low prices locally are $3.499 compared to the $3.599 I paid last Saturday.

Wow! 2.47 over in east Austin (where I wouldn't go were it 1.47) and 2.50 at SamsClub and Costco in my 'hood.
