Alarmed and curious about what it might be, Yasir posted photos of the device online, asking members of reddit whether it was a bomb, or possibly an FBI tracking device.

In a short amount of time Yasir learned that it was in fact a GPS tracking device, and it was made by a company that only sells to government agencies.

Days later he was able to learn the direct source of the tracking device, when he was visited by a large group of FBI agents who had seen his posts online, and wanted their device back.

When he was visited by the agents, Yasir had obvious questions about the situation. Who had planted the device on his car, and why? Was he suspected in some sort of investigation?

The agents refused to answer any of his questions and told him that if he refused to cooperate with them that they were going to make this situation as difficult as possible for him.

Intimidation and interrogation has NOT become the law of the land. it is NOT acceptable. It behooves every citizen to INSIST upon adherence to the law among law enforcement. If law enforcement can not follow the law then their is no law and this is an anarchy ruled by the strongest thugs and biggest gangs.

Crips got nothing on cops.

Better yet, remove the offending device from your vehicle and then attach it to an 18 wheeler or traveling salesman's vehicle. Let those involved figure out the problem.

Check your vehicles, 4um folk.

It's the bankers fault !

New cars can be tracked. They can listen to you even if the cellphone is off. And they can stop your car.

Can't stop me, older utility truck FTW!!

The victim should have sent the tracking device to Fiji atoll by UPS and told the FBI to get after it.......

I'm inclined to think that Yasir held a similar opinion .... until one turned up.

Have you ever done a FOIA request to learn what they do have on you ?

I have.

It's the bankers fault !

New cars can be tracked.

Yes. That's why I stick with well maintained late models.

They can listen to you even if the cellphone is off.

Mine almost never leaves home. It's basically just a tiny answering machine.

But I regularly inform those who can't live without their matrix interface devices of that feature you mentioned.

And they can stop your car.
The newer ones, yeah, you bet they can. Should someone wish to stop mine, they'll have to do it the old fashion way.

It's the bankers fault !

Did application of an automotive tracking device show up on your FOIA report?

I pulled mine prior to that technology becoming mainstream.

There was data compiled as to my fundraising activities in regard to the legalization of cannabis.

It may pay to inquire again. They've had over 30 years to add to those files.

It's the bankers fault !

Have you ever done a FOIA request to learn what they do have on you ?

I did, many years ago. The idiots never gave it up for me! They owe me one, I guess I should ask again....

Things have changed in 30 years, thanks to people like you continually raising rational objections to unfair laws, especially the long sentences handed out for small possession. The cost involved has also caused a reduction in efforts around cannabis

By joining 4um we've both raised our profiles to some extent but I suspect that electronic surveillance of online activity in the form of traffic data mining is seen as adequate for most of us.

FISA and the Patriot Acts retain the ability for these actions to stay secret. If you found out you had been bugged, you could be charged with publicizing a secret government instigation. Librarians have learned to put up signs saying "no patron investigations have occurred recently." They believe they can legally remove the sign after a "visit."

I just don't think the typical 4um member falls into any of the hot categories: law breakers, threat hurlers, or conspirators. We visit the forum to share ideas, not to wreak havoc.

Don't flatter your importance

What you've done is raise the profile of 4um - a free speech site -unnecessarily.

But do carry on.

Perhaps in your case. But they knew who I was loooong before Al Gore invented the internet.

I wasn't suggesting that simply visiting 4um would be the reason for "enhanced" surveillance. But many here may also have extracurricular activities, carry permits, questionable associations, nosy, untrustworthy neighbors, etc.

Any of a number of things could attract unwanted bugs.

Ultimately, they're afraid of us. Hence their build up for a war against the US citizenry.

And some of us, each in our own way, seek to justify that fear.

It's the bankers fault !

LMAO!

Great idea! Or better yet, to a cop interceptor. I say interceptor because remember when they used to be called cruisers.
