I first visited the site of the Branch Davidian Massacre in 2008. My wife and I were in the Waco area this morning so we stopped by once again and took some video of the current site of the 'Waco' tragedy, for a virtual tour of what the place looks like 21 years after the siege. Upon our arrival we were greeted by two very nice labs.
On April 19, 1993 the government slaughtered 82 innocent men, women, and children at the property. One year later, the survivors were acquitted of all murder charges in the deaths of four federal agents. The jury found that the Davidians acted in self defense. This is a little known fact by the general public, who are basically told that a pervert child molester and his cult group committed mass suicide.
Vice President Joe Biden claimed that there was no improper motive by the feds at Waco, and said that the Davidians "committed suicide". As a U.S. Senator during hearings on Waco, Biden definitively stated "The record of the Waco incident documents mistakes. What the record from Waco does not evidence, however, is any improper motive or intent on the part of law enforcement. David Koresh and the Davidians set fire to themselveves and committed suicide. The government -DID NOT- DO THAT".
In 1993, George H. W. Bush attended the wake for A.T.F. agent Steve Willis, one of four government assassins who were killed during the Waco seige. Bush later defended Willis, saying "I can assure you that this honorable man, killed by weird cultists, was no Nazi." It's no small irony that Skull & Bonesman Freemason Bush, who openly wore occult costumes at the White House and cavorted with underage male prostitutes, disparages what he calls "weird cultists."
The fact is that the Branch Davidians were far from willful murderers, and there is even a memorial to the slain officers at the Waco compound today. In reality, just two days prior to the one year anniversary of the initial (Feb. 28, 1993) raid on the Branch Davidian property, a jury had acquitted all Davidian survivor defendants of murder charges. The jury deliberated only four days to reach a decision after a six week trial. On 2/27/94, the Los Angeles Times reported "11 Waco Cultists Are Acquitted of Murder Charges : Trial: Outcome indicates jurors placed most blame on the government. Seven Branch Davidians are convicted on lesser charges. Anaheim mother agrees with defense".
A map and directions to the Mt. Carmel property can be found here.
