Although the gun-wielding thief was half his age, Lewis wasn't giving in. When the robber first pulled out the gun, Lewis grabbed his wrist and began a desperate arm wrestling match. Somehow, Lewis managed to get his own gun out.

"I reached in my pocket and I had a .38 revolver and I fired into him," Lewis said. "I later found out that I emptied my gun."
