Title: Ted Cruz Booed Off Stage At Middle East Christian Conference

Sen. Ted Cruz was booed offstage at a conference for Middle Eastern Christians Wednesday night after saying that “Christians have no greater ally than Israel.”

Cruz, the keynote speaker at the sold-out D.C. dinner gala for the recently-founded non-profit In Defense of Christians, began by saying that “tonight, we are all united in defense of Christians. Tonight, we are all united in defense of Jews. Tonight, we are all united in defense of people of good faith, who are standing together against those who would persecute and murder those who dare disagree with their religious teachings.”

Cruz was not reading from a teleprompter, nor did he appear to be reading from notes.

“Religious bigotry is a cancer with many manifestations,” he continued. “ISIS, al-Qaida, Hezbollah, Hamas, state sponsors like Syria and Iran, are all engaged in a vicious genocidal campaign to destroy religious minorities in the Middle East. Sometimes we are told not to loop these groups together, that we have to understand their so called nuances and differences. But we shouldn’t try to parse different manifestations of evil that are on a murderous rampage through the region. Hate is hate, and murder is murder. Our purpose here tonight is to highlight a terrible injustice, a humanitarian crisis.”

“Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” he said, at which point members of the crowd began to yell “stop it” and booed him.

“Those who hate Israel hate America,” he continued, as the boos and calls for him to leave the stage got louder. “Those who hate Jews hate Christians. If those in this room will not recognize that, then my heart weeps. If you hate the Jewish people you are not reflecting the teachings of Christ. And the very same people who persecute and murder Christians right now, who crucify Christians, who behead children, are the very same people who target Jews for their faith, for the same reason.”

The cries of “stop it, stop it, enough,” and booing continued. “Out, out, leave the stage!” At this point IDC’s president, Toufic Baaklini, came out to the stage to ask for the crowd to listen to Cruz, but Cruz had already had enough.

“If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews,” he said. “Then I will not stand with you. Good night, and God bless.” And with that, he walked off the stage.

Many Christians in the Middle East take issue with Israeli military policy, which has made life for Palestinian Christians in their homeland very difficult, and driven many from their homes. “Israel’s policies have led to demographic pressure that’s made the West Bank and Gaza far more Muslim than in 1948,” explained one Middle East analyst.

IDC’s Executive Director, Andrew Doran, then came out on stage, saying “For the love of God, we’re here to talk about Christians and we’re here to be united.”

Antiochian Orthodox Metropolitan Joseph Zahlawi, who leads the Antiochian Orthodox in North America, soon after led those present in the Lord’s Prayer.

Is the tide finally turning against the FedGov alliance with "our ally" in the ME??

Oh, thanks for this yummy breakthrough. THANKS. It won't be long now till everybody rightly hates counterfeit Israel and says NO MORE!

It's not bad enough that America and Israel are indistinguishable now thanks to the whores in Washington and every ideologue's screeching that Israel's and America's interests are exactly the same, America can't live without Israel, it's best friend we've got in the Mideast, blah blah...... now this mangy little faux-Mexican bastard has to put Christianity and Jewishness in the blender and pulp them all together. You can tell he doesn't believe in anything but money and politics.

Wish I could have been there to holler WHORE! TRAITOR! SCUM! at the creep! Gee, maybe he's peeing his pants realizing he's caught between Jew money and American disgust.

Good rant, heartfelt and earnest, could be a little more gritty with further elaboration and more explicit epithets. 9 out of 10 stars (no, not those stars!)...

Looky here -- Teddy's joined the emotion police. Merely for nixing his Zionism, he accuses the audience of "hatred and bigotry," the most serious crimes in the new wacky law code of diversity!

http://freebeacon.com/issues/ted-cruz-stands-up-to-hatred-and-bigotry-at-conference-of-middle-eastern-christians/

"Hatred and bigotry" for disagreeing with him about the biggest political and moral issue of the past century. That's what political debate has come down to thanks to schoolmarmish jerks like him. If you disagree with somebody you're guilty of hating them now, even assaulting them maybe.

How CAN they have this much hubris -- expecting Middle Eastern Christians to love Israel? Where does it come from? He's either part Jew or got straight A's at the their main brainwashing school. Say, he's not even American, but a native of Alberta (Wikipedia).

Say, he's not even American, but a native of Alberta (Wikipedia).

The 2X election of the foreign interloper - i.e. the KenyanInChief - made the issue re: "native born" a moot point.

Also Cruz has renounced his Cdn. citizenship and given up his Cdn. passport.

I don't remember O'bungler even bothering to do that with his multiple passports and citizenships.

I doubt that Cruz is Jewish. He was probably raised in the RC church - his father is Cuban American.

He's probably doing what all candidates in both parties do who are serious about winning the Oval Office, which is kissing AIPAC's ring and genuflecting to Israel.

What he says behind closed doors about Izrahell is anyone's guess.

Cruz is a very cerebral guy - he really did attend Harvard Law School classes and he really was an active Editor of the Harvard Law Review...unlike the affirmative action phony who has not published one single legal article in any academic journal.

Cruz is too smart to see Izzy as being America's best ally.

I will not be voting for HildaBeast in 2016 that's a certainty.

So unless you or someone else at 4um can convince me there are better GOP candidates than a Rand Paul+Ted Cruz ticket, I'll be voting for the latter regardless of their Izzy apple polishing.

Oh and forget about trying to convince me not to vote because it's a waste of time blah, blah...been there done that debate - I vote in all elections, end of story. It gives me license to crab and grouch and complain after the elections.

It's certainly remarkable how many foreigners come here to tell us what's what. Certainly highlights his alienness that he's that bent on grafting us onto a foreign country, probably the most hated in the world right now.

Long experience has taught me that where there's Jewy behavior there's normally Jewish genes -- way more of the time than meets the eye. His first (like his father's) name is actually Rafael, that's good for 5 points right there. Him being a Cuban-Canadian in the US Congress is another 5. Internationalism is the Chosen's hallmark -- they've been called "rootless cosmopolitans" not for nothing.

Wow, there's more than one anti-votist here? Hot news!

1. news flash - American voters hitched our nation's wagon to Issy loooooong before Cruz came on the political scene - Cruz was not proselytizing - he delivered a speech which he mistakenly thought ME Christian American voters - like most American voters - would want to hear from politicians on the stump - obviously some in the audience might have been Muslims or recently naturalized ME Christians - but check out the responses on the article thread at the daily caller url - many of them are supporting what Cruz said and they're criticizing the behavior of the people in the room. What can I say except that there many low information, easily manipulated American voters. In real life a significant majority of Americans actually do support Izzy according to polls.

2. I'm not seeing any Jewish behavior from Cruz per se - he's a political animal who wants to get votes and he's giving a speech that he's been led to believe that his audience want to hear.

3. I have no clue what you're trying to convey about the name Rafael - please don't use ciphers and codes or secret hand shakes - I'm not up to snuff on that stuff

Folks from the Middle East just don't swap religions from generation to generation the was that Gringos do. For a Muslim to go Christian or vice-versa would be like one of the he-men on this forum like Loddy suddenly deciding to doll up in wymym's duds to go to the bar, or me electing out of the blue to embark on a career change and start selling crystal meth. It just ain't done.

Christians from the ME have a great spidey sense and no people I know are more aware of the hypocrisy of power, having lived and suffered under it for not a few centuries. Many now live here under the umbrella of the First Amendment. I am not surprised to see them vent their feelings in this fashion in reaction to Cruz' speech.

You might be right that Muslims would not have any interest in paying to attend a pricey dinner that was sponsored by a newly founded non-profit org named "In Defense of Christians."

There were Palestinian Christians in the audience and evidently the booing started when Cruz referred to Hamas as terrorists.

Here's the background info on IDC - its benefactor was a rich Lebanese-Nigerian friend of the Clinton's.

I'm not defending Cruz for his pro Israel schtick speech. And I think he was incredibly ill-informed by his handlers to do that type of speech at a dinner with many ME Christians in the audience.

Personally I think Israel is a financial albatross to America and its ruthless bully boy actions in the ME causes lots of trouble for our nation and Israel's dual citizen agents @ AIPAC have way too influence over America's foreign policy. I've always said that from day 1.

But to say or think that Ted Cruz is some type of uncommon US politician is silly. Except for a handful of Congressmen and Senators they all express and demonstrate their undying love for Israel. And they stay in office because most American voters like Israel and they vote for pols who support Israel.

Why are people shocked at 4um that Cruz acts like every other US politician? What am I missing?

Funding for the conference was provided by Clinton donor and Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury, according to organizers. The wealthy businessman pledged $1 billion to the Clinton Global Initiative in 2009.

Chagoury is also reportedly backer of Lebanese politician Michel Aoun, Hezbollah’s top Christian ally in the country, according to U.S. diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks.
