Governor Jerry Brown, among Hollywood bigwigs, will be honored at the Jewish National Fund's National conference this weekend in Los Angeles. The event, held Friday through Monday September 15th, will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. A JNF press release stated, in part,
"For the first time ever JNF will bring together some of the biggest names in entertainment to explore in depth the connection between Hollywood and Israel,” said Russell F. Robinson, CEO of JNF. "All the panelists have personal ties to Israel and will deliver an informed professional perspective on the importance of the growing Israeli film industry." ...Panelists will share their professional experiences and perspectives on establishing and growing the film and television industry’s Hollywood-Israel connection, including the increase in private-funded filming, the aftermath of 9/11 and its impact on the industry and relations toward Israel, and how the recent crisis in Israel impacted the television and film industry."
The JNF website announced "Each of the panelists has a strong connection to Israel." At the Sunday gala, Governor Jerry Brown and his wife Anne Gust Brown will receive the group's 'Green Innovation Award'. Governor Brown issued a press release noting "This event is open to invited guests and credentialed media only."
