State independence falls short of true freedom. The people of America wanted individual liberty and certainly enjoyed it to a degree as long as the restraints placed upon govt by the Constitution were adhered to. Once the Constitution was usurped by commercial law and Americans in the vast majority succumbed to the fears of old age and submitted to the Socialist Security Scheme ... they lost their rights and were allotted some temporary privileges. Every real American should dissolve the relationship they believe exists between their selves and the FEDS (first). If the States are reluctant to restore the RIGHTS previously guaranteed/protected, then dissolution of the relationship to States is required if freedom is to survive. Nations and States are fictions that allow parasites the ability to manipulate the populace and eat out the substance actually EARNED by those outside of government. I remember conversing with a liberal during the GW Bush presidency. We were talking about Ron Paul, and while he liked his anti-war positions, he said he could never vote for another president who comes from Texas (never mind that Bush originally hailed from Connecticut, and that Paul came from Pennsylvania). I wish I could have said that if people don't want to be governed by a Texan, maybe Texans should be allowed to not be governed by other states.
