RT...

It seems that scientists have finally offered some concrete evidence that life after death really does exist, as the largest-ever study into the issue showed that patients could recall intricate details despite being officially declared clinically dead.

Researchers based at the UK’s University of Southampton, who were involved in the AWARE (“AWAreness during REsuscitation”) study published in the journalResuscitation, claim that almost 40 percent of people who survived clinical death described some kind of “awareness” during the time before their hearts were restarted.

The study, led by Dr. Sam Parnia, from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, spanned four years and involved 15 hospitals in the US, UK and Austria and more than 2,060 cases of cardiac arrest.

“We know the brain can’t function when the heart has stopped beating,” The Telegraph reported Parnia as saying. “But in this case, conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart wasn’t beating, even though the brain typically shuts down within 20-30 seconds after the heart has stopped.”

Parnia's team tracked down 330 patients who survived heart attacks; 140 of whom were willing to talk about their experiences. Of those who were interviewed, 61 percent said they didn’t remember anything, but the rest did.

Parnia says that one patient described everything that was happening in the room while he was receiving CPR, even after his heart had stopped.

“The man described everything that had happened in the room, but importantly, he heard two bleeps from a machine that makes a noise at three-minute intervals. So we could time how long the experienced lasted for,” Parnia said. “He seemed very credible and everything that he said had happened to him had actually happened.”

The probe into the life-after-death realm showed that 46 percent experienced a broad range of mental recollections and 2 percent showed full awareness of their out-of-body experiences. From those interviewed, 13 percent claim they felt separated from their bodies.

A few recurring themes in memories were established, most common ones being fear, violence, and “a feeling of being persecuted.” Patients also experienced after-life images of family, animals and a bright light.

Researchers believe that the newest study shows a need to explore the subject area further.

“Estimates have suggested that millions of people have had vivid experiences in relation to death but the scientific evidence has been ambiguous at best,” Parnia said. “These experiences warrant further investigation.”

Cognitive brain may shut down but primitive brain may still be functioning, perhaps telepathically registering what's seen by observers present.

No surprise to me. But what people recall during the stressful event of death itself will also include the negative elements of pain and fear.

If you want to study what people recall, then study what people recall while under hypnosis. Past life memories can be investigated for accuracy, and then there are no issues about whether the brain is functioning or not as with this study. There are also no issues of physical trauma influencing the memories themselves.

But maybe the science community isn't ready to take up reincarnation as something to do a study on.

Or under DMT, made chemically or naturally in the enviroment...which is released by the human body at birth and death.

Or while dreaming which generally involves memory information?

Dreaming certainly does involve memory information, of course.

But sleep and hypnosis are very, very different things. You can't ask a sleeping person about what they are dreaming, or instruct them to dream about past events in their life whereas with hypnosis you most certainly can instruct them to recall & relive specific past memories. Also the person is aware of their surroundings and what's going on. Brainwave functions are different between the two states. As far as scientific studies go, hypnosis offers a much more tangible information set than polling people about their dreams.

A sleep walker would be aware of surroundings but not aware that he is asleep.

What does hypnotized person say if asked: are you in a trance?

What does hypnotized person say if asked: are you in a trance?

You can have complete conversations with hypnotized people. You can ask them questions of whatever sort and receive meaningful answers, and instruct them to recall certain events from their past, to "relive" them. If you ask someone "are you in a trance" I think you'll likely get some descriptive answer rather than a flat yes or no.

A person under hypnosis is still in control of himself and he will not need to answer any question that he is not comfortable answering.

The brain works at varies frequencies and the brains of people under hypnosis operate at a slower frequency than that of a fully alert person.

1st week April 2002 - Harley Motorcycle accident. According to hospital records and family was in a coma for 3-4 weeks. After I came out of the coma I was in a vegetative state. Neurologists at Barrows and from Calif and Texas said there was no hope... If I lived a year it would be more than they expected. I would require constant care rest of my life. Would never talk, communicate, walk or anything. Destroyed parietal, temporal and frontal lobes on both sides of brain. Was told by family that I had developed severe blot clots in both legs and lungs. Doctors told wife that they were planning to take left leg and mabye right leg but not until after weekend because I had developed a very serious type of staff infection in part of brain I had left. Ran 105-106 temp for 4 days so they decided to wait a couple of days before doing the surgery because it was too risky. All of this time I knew nothing, I was a complete vegetable. July 6th was the first thing I knew in over 3 months. Was standing before the bright light, saw my grandmother who was horribly cripppled from arthritis - couldn't walk after age 30. Never asked why me.. very devout Christian. She is no longer crippled in any way. Told me "Not yet Dale, too soon, Penny (my wife) needs you, only been 30 years (we were married at the time) and I couldn't leave her. No pain... just ... hard to describe. Then I heard "GO BACK, YOU ARE NOT TO BE HERE YET, GO BACK, I HAVE THINGS FOR YOU TO DO, GO BACK". It was about 3 hours later I was told that I opened my eyes... I remember tubes all over me, down my throat up nose. Had no idea where I was, moved head to look to the right and saw my wife sitting there appeared to have been reading book but had fallen asleep in chair. I tried to ask "where are we"... She almost fell out of the chair.. she came over to me leaned down and asked "who am I"? I said as best I could "my wife"... She then asked "what is my name"? I said "Penny". Was in a daze and not sure of anything. Doctors came and spent what seemed forever examining me. Told my wife they could not explain it... but that I would never talk in complete sentences or be able walk or work again. Was in a wheel chair for a couple of days... One day asked therapist to push me over to parallel bars. Wanted to know why.. I just said please do it and unstrap me from the chair... I pulled my self up walked (it hurt very badly because legs were still swollen from blot clots) to the end holding onto the bars and back. Over the next couple of days I don't know how many doctors came and examined me but I didn't think there were that many n Phoenix. July 17th they had a big party for me and doctors and nurses from all over the neuro floors came and wished me well. After that my wife and I walked out to our car and she drove us home. Over the next few weeks I had to see 31 doctors before I could get one to sign off and let me go back to work. He said, "I don't understand it, you should be....be... but you did everything I asked you to do" and signed off for me to return to work. I could tell you many shall we say blessings I have been allowed to witness since leaving the hospital.. but it would take all night. Pastors have asked me to speak at their churches and have repeatedly suggested that I should write a book. Numerous neurologist asked to examine me over the next 8 years and everyone said "you are a miracle... at best you should be in a non-resposive state" Some have asked to do different tests. After a few years of this I just quit responding to the calls and ignored them Do I believe? No... I know.

Well, I have shared it with many people.. not enough but keep going. Going to finally retire next year. My wife and I bought a motorhome and are planning to travel around, see things and give my testimony wherever we go. I have quite a few tattoos including a large one on my back. The year after my accident I was talked into going to the "world's largest tattoo show" in Hollywood (InkSlingers). Everybody I went with wanted me to enter th back contest but I didn't feel comfortable more with my tattoos and objected. But they finally talked me into it. When I filled out the card -name, artist who did tatoo, where are you from I started to write Phoen .... then I erased it and wrote back from the other side. We the announcer reviewed my card he asked me "what is this back from the other side stuff"? I spent about 5 minutes telling him and he said "well you look pretty good for having been...." I interrupted him and said yeah, I know. About an hour when I got up on the stage in the back contest he started telling the people in the audience (about 5,000) about what I had told him. I though to myself... "not here man, they don't want to hear that stuff here. There were all kinds of tats, metal all over some peoples faces, heads, bodies etc and I wanted him to honestly "shut up". When I finished I was getting off the stage and started walking over to my wife and friends and all of a sudden I had all kinds of people surrounding me asking my about what happened... what did I see.. did I hear anything.. how long were you gone... I started telling them as I walked over and sat down next to my wife. It seemed like forever, Penny said it was about two hours, that people constantly kept coming up to me and asking me about it... and did I reaally believe? After it died down my wife turned and looked at me and said "now do you know why you have that big tattoo on your back"? "If you would have been a pastor or priest or whatever, at best they would have completely ignored you. But because you have it, they came and wanted to hear. I just said "yeah yeah yeah". But she was right...she said "Do you remember what He told you about things for you to do"? I just smiled. Since that time we have gone to big tattoo shows all over the US and including Canada and at each I walked around and gave my testimony to people I had never met before. In all that time I have never been pushed away or had anything rude said to me. We still ride the Harley and used still go on runs like the Laughlin run. I would walk up into the middle of 1%ers (Hells Angels etc.) and other groups and start giving my testimony. Never was I made fun of and I actually had a Hells Angel say to me "You are blessed aren't you"?

As I said I could go on and on and on. But, I am a work and I am sure you guys also have things to do.

Take care and God Bless... And Christine... I still have the Halloween pic of you and am going to put it on Facebook again this year. :)
