Joan Rivers Cause of Death Revealed

Joan Rivers died of "therapeutic complications" during a procedure to evaluate her "voice changes" and stomach reflux, the New York medical examiner said Thursday.

"The classification of a death as a therapeutic complication means that the death resulted from a predictable complication of medical therapy," the report said, according to CNN.

The 81-year-old comedian died September 4, a week after an appointment at Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy clinic. The medical examiner's investigation ruled that the cause of death was "anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest," a medical description of brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen.

The arrest happened "during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease," the medical examiner's officer said.

The initial report did not name the doctor or doctors who performed the procedures.

She died from low blood oxygen - i.e. hypoxia (loss of oxygen) induced by propofol, a general anesthetic...propofol can be a respiratory system depressant, causing less oxygen to circulate through the body and, eventually, the brain. Her age was a factor, too - older people are at great risk "going under" anesthesia.

You bet. The operating room staff supposedly monitor blood gasses constantly so any precipitous drop should be immediately remedied.

A noted anesthesiologist in Boston told me years ago that, "If you put 100 healthy peeps under general, one of them won't come out."

Obviously if a patient has a heart attack or stroke it could be an unrecoverable fumble. But, I don't know how a celeb in a city where her people in general and wealthy entertainers in particular are treated to the best care available could be deprived of such a fundamental essential to the preservation of life for more than two cycles of a respirator, and why she would expire even if such was the case.

We know that the ruling elite will viciously target an untouchable CHOZE if the individual turns native (Paul Wellstone for instance). And, according to the Rodham family's accountant (in a letter to a newspaper from his retirement home in Florida) he insisted that the whole time he worked for the family in Illinois (when Hillary was a tadpole and metamorphosing into a reptilian lawyer) the Rodhams were observant "non-Christians".

And, the Clintons' powerbase is New York. (Remember Denise Rich, the goodest of the good Democrat?)

Is it possible that Joan Rivers' ill considered remarks about our president and The First Lady were considered treason because it could be used by "the others" as ammo to keep The Dems from holding onto The White House, House and Senate?

In udder wirdz, even those who have no particular concern about the lame duck president are rightfully concerned if America is told by a high profile celeb with a reputation for fearless gossip that we were all deceived about such a shocking secret, and by DEMOCRATS!

We all know that had Joan survived she'd have repeated her assertions to any who'd listen. And this could have given lift to the stories about Hillary's private life. Mary Mahoney was killed in a Starbucks (in which no money was taken) after she began talking about dewin' the nasty with Hillary in The White House. Former MK ULTRA sex slave Cathy O'Brien has also sworn to an intimate familiarity with Hillary's merken.

Even if it never got that far Joan could have been why all Dems leave a "bad taste in voters' mouths" during the next election cycle. (And, geez, the DEMs can't force The PUBs to campaign on the promise to abolish social security, right?) That meant that Joan Rivers could have singlehandedly accomplished what Rush, Sean, Bill and millions of voters couldn't and derail the plans of THE MOLDY CRUST behind the oaken doors of the secret chambers of power.

I suppose we should be grateful that Joan didn't fly to the coast for her surgery. The Crusted Ones wouldn't hesitate to bring down a loaded airliner to keep that story in check. And, as an ancillary perquisite it never hurts to let others who may chat know that if they talk there would be plenty more where that came from.

yeah, interesting...and, then again, it could have been just an unfortunate accident because of her age. we'll never know.

To question is to value the ideal of truth more highly than the loyalties to nation, religion, race, or ideology.

Perhaps. As a doctor's wife and a knowledgeable medical resource in your own right you are well aware that general anesthesia is hard on the bod even for young healthy peeps.

And, who knows what her GP Dr. Candystein prescribed for her to wake up, to go down, to lift her when depressed and calm her when manic.

Whatever she took (a rich celeb's privilege) it's unlikely that she stopped the meds before surgery to minimize a possible drug interaction. Better to go for it than to risk death from the sudden discontinuation of some happy pills. And, she may have withheld info from the doctors, if she had a fondness for a nightcap of opium, hashish and Absinthe, for instance.

The rub is that the Obamas may be the luckiest individuals since the Clintons when it comes to their enemies meeting with misfortune. So, even some who may not suffer from conspiracyitis may wonder if it was more than divine intervention, the answer to prayers of the devout.....

And as you may know my wife worked in hospital admin for years, and she helped more than a few doctors bury the bodies. For instance, a patient comes in for routine surgery and dies of peritonitis. Trusting patients will accept the doctor's explanation of "an unfortunate accident because of his/her age". A burst appendix notwithstanding it could also be the result of sloppy, careless and septic surgery by a hungover and cross eyed surgeon.

But, not to hear doctors wives tell it! ;)

But, seriously, I'd like to hear what would cause an elderly patient to stop absorbing O2, assuming her heart was working and she was receiving pressurized oxygen. In the 1978 film COMA, patients experienced brain death after being given CO, which caused their lips and other areas to glow bright red as if fully oxygenated.

That was a film of course, and what I don't know is if IRL such a dastardly deed (and the irregular blood ph) would be detected in time to save a patient's life.
