Yeah....Really..... Not really. You're more likely to catch leprosy from a fellow human than an armadillo. And Florida armadillos are disease free. :-)

I've never tried it. The folks on the tv shows seem to like it (Swamp People, Live Free or Die). And Shelby from Ax Men, he seems to think turtle soup is the bomb.
