2 Desperate Democrats Adopt Conservative Viewpoint to Try to Win Votes in this Tight Re-Election Race

You know that you’re desperate to win votes when, as a Democratic candidate for re-election to the Senate, you start voting pro-gun.
Democratic Senators Mark Pryor and Mark Begich are in tight re-election races to keep their seats, and the stress is starting to show. Whereas previously, they had been voting closer to the standard Democratic party line, they have started to support gun rights in an effort to keep their seats.
However, pro-gun groups such as the Gun Owners of America, aren’t buying it. In fact, their Legislative Council, Mike Hammond, said these two getting into office again “would be horrible.” Of course, nutcase left-wing groups like Center for American Progress, said Democrats shouldn’t even bother trying to pander to pro-gun groups because they won’t be able to keep the support.
They’re right, of course, but it’s not because pro-gun groups have shifting loyalties, but because pro-gun groups see how politicians, and Democrats in particular, have a nasty habit of being worse than they advertise when they get into office. With so much anti-gun rhetoric that come from the present administration, why should pro-gun voters support these Democrats only to see them turn traitor once they are back in office?
It’s absolutely appalling the blindness that leftist groups like the Center for American Progress and the Democratic Party in general show towards the reality of gun ownership and what actually injures and kills people. You would think that they were willfully ignoring the facts.
Take this story, for example. A guy beats a woman senseless and, then, to make it worse, is going to rape her. He didn’t need a gun to commit this heinous act of violence. But, you know what makes the situation even more ironic in light of liberal anti-gun rhetoric and nonsense? A gun owner pulls his gun on the guy and saves this woman from even worse treatment, possibly even death.
What part of “guns don’t kill people; people kill people” isn’t clear to these folks? But, then again, if you’ve ever tried to argue policy positions with these people, you know that facts don’t matter, just how you feel about the issue.
