Congressional Study Shows Obamas Economy Sucks (surprise?) | From the news story Duh! file: the Senate commissions a study about the current state of the economy. The report says that paycheck size, the job market, economic growth have been pathetic, small business is hurting, but Wall Street is doing great. (Hat tip to this story for the information source.) Really?!? This didnt take a genius to figure out, but maybe were expecting too much from a Democratically-controlled legislative body. After all, theyve repeatedly shown on other issues that facts are less important to them than ideological positions. Or maybe they know on which side their bread is buttered. After all, despite rabid declarations to the contrary and accusations that Republicans are the ones who have been bought by big business, Democrats receive hefty sums of money from Wall Street, too. A perfect example is Goldman Sachs contributions to Obamas 2008 campaign of over $1 million (thats not a typo). The fact that the Senate felt the need to even commission a study is rather telling when their President is on record as saying that the economy is better but average Americans dont feel it. Youd think his word on this would be irrefutable, but, apparently, even his fellow Democrats dont trust that his word is true on this one, so they have to spend more of our money to discover that, hey, what he said is kind of true. Thats our tax dollars at work helping to make our lives better. So, now that weve had six years of these reckless policies and nonsensical ideas in power, Democrats need a study to admit what people who have actually thought about economic issues already knew: government running a countrys economy doesnt help anyone but the big businesses already in bed with that government. So, the question begs to be asked: why would we give these people any more time in office? Why would we pay for them to screw up our economy worse? Why would we trust them with anything significant? The answer is, instead of giving our money to tax and spend lifetime politicians and bureaucrats and receiving no representation, we need elected officials in office who understand that they are accountable to us or well send them home. After all, thats what the original Boston Tea Party was about, wasnt it? Poster Comment: Boston Tea Party - That's me! BTP!
