Quick-Thinking Homeowners Take Out Armed Home Invader 68 Comments
IntruderKnifeA man broke into an Indiana couple’s home recently, and didn’t live to tell the story. The couple, who live in Hardinsburg, heard someone in their home early Tuesday. They moved their 86-year-old mother into a bedroom to protect her, then went downstairs to investigate.
When one of them opened the cellar door, they found themselves face-to-face with an armed man, 23-year-old Joseph Grimes. He was wearing a bandanna and hooded sweatshirt, and holding a knife. He punched the homeowner in the stomach and the two began to fight. According to the police report, the other homeowner shot Grimes with a handgun. He died on the scene.
