China’s top aircraft maker says its new stealth fighter has the ability to shoot down US-made F-35 Joint Strike Fighter from the sky.

When China’s J-31 stealth fighter “takes to the sky, it can definitely take it (F-35) down…. That’s a certainty,” Lin Zuoming, president of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), said on Tuesday.

Lin added that AVIC seeks to compete with the United States in new markets, particularly targeting countries to which the US will not sell military equipment as well as the countries that cannot afford the expensive F-35.

“The next-generation air forces that are unable to buy the F-35 have no way to build themselves up. We don't believe the situation should be that way,” Lin noted.

"This world should be balanced," the Chinese official said, adding, "Good things shouldn't all be pushed to one party."

The J-31 is the second domestically produced stealth fighter jet in China.

Meanwhile, a Pentagon report said stealth aircraft are important to China developing the ability to carry out both offensive and defensive operations.

The US-made Lockheed Martin F-35 has faced numerous problems since its introduction.

In May, an Aviation Week report said the F-35 is incapable of escaping Russian and Chinese radars.

Some experts say flaws in the F-35 fuel tank and fueldraulic systems have left it even more vulnerable to lightning strikes and other fire sources including enemy fire.

The production of the F-35 military aircraft has faced technical issues, cost overruns and delays.

Rebuttal in bold-type:

PressTV...

China’s top aircraft maker says its new stealth fighter has the ability to shoot down US-made F-35 Joint Strike Fighter from the sky. Yea, probably have said that about every aircraft out there; would be shocked if they said anything other than - it would be an admittance of defeat - not in China's typical game plan!

When China’s J-31 stealth fighter “takes to the sky, it can definitely take it (F-35) down…. That’s a certainty,” Lin Zuoming, president of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), said on Tuesday. Like he'd say anything different? If he did, he'd probably "disappear" one night!

Lin added that AVIC seeks to compete with the United States in new markets, particularly targeting countries to which the US will not sell military equipment as well as the countries that cannot afford the expensive F-35. Surprise, surprise. Since they've STOLEN all our technology, designs and aircraft exterior surface loft, why not. What they're marketing is a shell that looks just like ours (reverse engineered), just stuffed with a bunch of low grade crap. That's how they can claim stealth... if we have it from our design, by copying it, so must they. Unfortunately, what's under-the-hood is far different between the two. But, their approach is to overwhelm us by numbers. 50 F-35's and F-22's loaded with 4 missiles each are no match for 500 J-31's.... it's the rule of numbers - we can only shoot down so many before we have to turn and run for more ordinance, then all they have to do us have more thrust and run us down (probably why they stuff 2 engines in their F-35 copy. As long as they don't run out of gas first.......

“The next-generation air forces that are unable to buy the F-35 have no way to build themselves up. We don't believe the situation should be that way,” Lin noted.

"This world should be balanced," the Chinese official said, adding, "Good things shouldn't all be pushed to one party." They've got to market and pedal their wares to someone I guess.... considering we won't even sell Japan F-22's (when they offered to pay ALL the costs to start up the production line again, after which we could have build a few more for ourselves...), I'm sure China will!

The J-31 is the second domestically produced stealth fighter jet in China. The first was their F-22 knock-off??!!!

Meanwhile, a Pentagon report said stealth aircraft are important to China developing the ability to carry out both offensive and defensive operations. That must have been written by a rocket scientist or Congressman! Duh, you think??!!

The US-made Lockheed Martin F-35 has faced numerous problems since its introduction. Most introduced by the military themselves when they changed/added requirements for the aircraft after it was initially designed and approved based on the original requirements - you rarely hear them admitting to that. Meanwhile, Lockheed just takes the public beating for them and keeps cashing their checks!!

In May, an Aviation Week report said the F-35 is incapable of escaping Russian and Chinese radars. Yea really? The aircraft has never been out of the lower 48 - how do they know? Has Russia or China trucked one of their radar units into the states to test it out against the F-35? Pure speculation right now.

Some experts say flaws in the F-35 fuel tank and fueldraulic systems have left it even more vulnerable to lightning strikes and other fire sources including enemy fire. These "experts" must be rocket scientists! Since it's a flying fuel tank (that's how it's kept so small, fuel goes everywhere, just like the F-16), any enemy fire that penetrates the skin is probably going to hit fuel or necessary systems. Since the a/c has redundancy, not quite as worried. Since it's similar to the F-16 in fuel storage and systems throughout the a/c... how many F-16's have been downed or caught fire due to enemy groundfire? Yes, veerrryyyy few. The recent groundfire you heard of was due to Pratt & Whitney design flaw that has been fixed on subsequent engines and a burn-in procedure/break-in flight profile has been identified and flown for existing engines. Wasn't an aircraft design flaw, but a Pratt design flaw in the (redacted). Few are intelligent enough about the issue to point the finger at Pratt (rightfully) rather than Lockheed. Again, LM takes the public knocks and just keep pushing finished aircraft to the flightline and cashing the checks!!

The production of the F-35 military aircraft has faced technical issues, cost overruns and delays. Technical issues - actually documented to be fewer than any other fighter aircraft in history at this stage of the design/production cycle! Cost overruns - due to customer requirement creep (i.e. added bells and whistles after the fact. Delays - due to requirements creep and new technology refinement. IF we'd built it out of metal instead of composites, it'd gone together quicker and with less fuss. Look at the smoothness and weight of an F-35 vs. any Chinese or Russian aircraft that looks like the exterior skins were formed over an anvil with a ball-peen hammer! It's all a reporter who knows far less than he thinks he does, talking about something he knows little technical or factual info about. I wouldn't put much stock in what he says. Once an F-22 or F-35 is shot down by enemy fire (aerial or ground), then we can start talking about how much these jackasses really know about the topic which they're writing on!

It's rumored that the J-31 can be operated when threatened by precipitation.

America's signature aircraft manufacturers, like LM, used to routinely build military airframes that would operate in the rain, but those days are apparently long past.

Chinkernese can't make an electric razor worth a damn, can't make hunting boots for White Men in America, they can't make anything worth buying aside from fortune cookies and egg rolls stuffed with Lassie and Rin Tin Tin. But all of a sudden they can make First World fighter jets that perform as advertised by a despotic Communist government?? You don't have to read tea leaves to come to the proper conclusion. Remember, we aren't privy to all the rumored FAILURES and numerous CRASHES of their copycat shit that litter the already littered landscape of China. Ejection procedure is Job #1 for the Chinkernese pilot.....

I'm sure that you're right about chinkernese production, whether it's civilian or military.

OTOFH, I wonder where the uncounted billions and billions really end up that we cough up to pay for these Pentagram projects that go on and on and on and never seem to get built much less deployed. (Kin you say DUMB?)

WWIII will be long over and the cinders cooling before the F-35 is combat ready.
