He's not dead, just departed.

Sorry about any confusion.

You're kidding!!??! .. No.. I know you're not. Well , I think it's silly. We may not of seen eye to eye and I know he had many disagreements with many others but to storm off over the conversation just because he doesn't like what some folks have to say? I don't know what to say. He is an adult and can make his own choices. Even though I'm not overly fond of the fellow his own commentary did add something here. It's a shame he feels the need to leave.

JT: I've been away off and on for personal reasons, so I missed out on your issues. I hope this comment finds its way to you in good health and spirits. I can't tell why you've left, but if it has anything to do with differences between you and others on the forum, then please reconsider. Differences no matter how strident are what make public discussion valuable. According to JFK, Solon the Greek lawmaker active around 550 BCE made it against the law for any Greek citizen to "shrink from controversy." Such is the life of a free citizen: obligation to answer disagreements with rational responses.

It has been said that 4um is a place for "old friends" to gather in support of one another after the battles on other fora have been lost or called a draw. I have accepted this definition but I still say that we should continue to debate issues that are important to us openly. Where else is that allowed? Who else is saying what needs to be said, for better or worse?

Except for recently, I was too busy to back you up on your debates against the libertarian spirit here regarding the defense of American policemen. Was I too late? This is one of the most important dialogs Americans are having in private today. Many people are waking up to the realities around us. It is no time to stop discussion. A report has come out of COINTELPRO-like agitation among the demonstrators at a recent SF-located "protest." If this is true, we would need your analysis even more.

You and I have disagreed and agreed many times. I hope that can continue. Instead of leaving, why not rethink your situation and 4's. What are we doing that should be changed? Perhaps this is about the platform without you realizing it. Please discuss this with us. I hope christine will save your account long enough for you to reconsider.

In honesty, one tries to assure themselves of two things.

One, they have learned something along the way and two, they know they have added something as best and honestly as they could.

Personally, I have been around for about sixteen years, learned a lot and been thrown out of every forum except this one.

Don't blame yourself for being busy or late. Not saying that I couldn't be wrong but he's never lacked formidable back up here by my readings. Even said himself, iirc, that he was surprised the cop in Garner's case wasn't indicted. Sometimes people just need a break, maybe have computer problems or other things they need to do for a while. I read a comment here some time ago to the effect that posting a leave of absence for whatever reason amounted to vanity. JT didn't say goodbye to 4um permanently or temporarily so I'm not going to say goodbye to him. What I'm replying here about is that I don't understand what you're saying there. People are waking up to the realities that America doesn't have an institutionalized Police Brutality problem and policemen need defending from a dire threat of libertarianism? I'm fairly certain that I woke to a very different reality today. If you'd like to continue discussions about it, I'm in agreement that the issues are an important topic for dialogue but would rather do so in a different thread with more of a debating format.
