This letter I will feature today was written by WWI soldier Paul B. Hendrickson to his parents when he was stationed a Camp Logan in Houston, TX. These are brief excerpts and I encourage you to read the letters at the original source. It is a fascinating and at times- amusing and revealing journey back in time.

This particular incident involves an "old Jew" who sold rotten food to the soldiers and was punished by being put in prison and allowed to have only water and his rotten maggot-filled pies to eat. It all began on January 31, 1918, and Paul was describing the various mundane duties and events of his day in the service...

This is from last year but cynicom's military stories about houston reminded me of it. This story is really something else. Why if a gentile had tried to poison jews soldiers it would be remembered forever, the poisoner would be called a terrorist and there would be an international remembrance day for the victims.

Here we have a jew poisoning u.s. soldiers during war time in houston and the only reason its known is because I came axross it in an obscure letter by a celebrated war hero from houston.
