This letter I will feature today was written by WWI soldier Paul B. Hendrickson to his parents when he was stationed a Camp Logan in Houston, TX. These are brief excerpts and I encourage you to read the letters at the original source. It is a fascinating and at times- amusing and revealing journey back in time. This particular incident involves an "old Jew" who sold rotten food to the soldiers and was punished by being put in prison and allowed to have only water and his rotten maggot-filled pies to eat.
