#7. To: sysadmin (#0) I think we need heavy-handed fundraisers that begin regularly every 90 days and last about 75 days. That seems like a good scam, doesn't it? Start small; just ask for "Italian" chain-restaurant gift cards and see how it goes. We also need new software subroutines to schedule system outages just prior to the beginning of each cycle to emphasize the need. If it doesn't work, we can start banning users who don't donate enough or look at somebody crosswise, because that is probably good for morale and site growth. And somewhere along the line, we need a motorhome. Hank Rearden posted on 2015-01-02 Poster Comment: TooConservative is the one who said " Those are all awesome suggestions. I'm only surprised that no one has thought of them before."

Seems like a revisited nightmare. One populated by con artists.

I just read this over there and it was cleverly written and funny as hell. The entire thread is pretty interesting and all of them want the show to go on. sysadmin is bending over backwards to accommodate everyone - he'll break his back if he isn't careful.
Yeah, Hank does some pretty good writing. And yeah, if sysadmin guy isn't careful he will get rolled over there.

sysadmin did mention he deleted some thread titled I Love the Police, or some such, because it was devolving into a flame fest. Not sure, but I think there is a "thread lock" feature which he should have used instead, IMO.
I saw that thread--I believe the title was I Support the Police. The caveat being when the police were doing what they should be doing and not acting like gangsters and thugs.

Well, now we'll never know, making my point. Locking the thread would leave a record of what happened. I didn't click on it and some people don't like their articles or comments sent to the ether region. Unless we contact the agency that has no name.
Yeah, I always hated it when there was an entertaining article or thread going over there and Goldi sent it down the memory hole.

sysadmin just did an unjustified ban on tpaine at LP. He was egged on by Gatlin and Palmhair. Go check it out. Poor sysadmin, he seems like such a nice guy.
Well, not up to me to judge. I doubt I would have banned anyone over that but then I don't see the harm in it since what he posted is not original to, or exclusive to, the Washington Post.

He was egged on by Gatlin and Palmhair. Poor sysadmin, he seems like such a nice guy. sysadmin is taking applications for reinstatement, if you'd like to try getting banned again. Personally, I'm not going to bother trying. He's like Barney Fife, way too nervous. He used up his one bullet on tpane, so what's he gonna do now? Not that it would mean that much to me but if tpaine likes to post on LP he could start back easily enough with a sock puppet account. At least you would think so with as many as some have used there over the years.
