It appears they only got 10 Rs to vote against Boehner, despite 60% of the Republican base demanding new leadership. Please let them run Jeb. I doubt he would break 40%.
Have they voted? On my screen it looks like they're still milling around, waiting to vote. Sounds like the gavel is sounding now.
Did I read it wrong? Was that vote for a quorum?

Rep. Trey Gowdy missed his flight to Washington Tuesday morning, but said he would have voted to re-elect John Boehner as speaker, despite an effort underway by some conservative members to oust him. “A canceled flight, due to weather, from South Carolina to Washington this morning regrettably prevented me from being in Washington for today’s speaker vote,” Gowdy said in a statement. ”Had our flight not been canceled, I would have voted for our conference nominee, John Boehner.” Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) mounted challenges against Boehner; Tuesday’s voice vote brought scattered votes for other members, including Gowdy himself, a conservative favorite. “The position of speaker of the House is a difficult job as evidenced by the fact that so few members seek the position,” Gowdy said. “Speaker Boehner was approved overwhelmingly by the conference in November. I heard that stupid bitch say, "Now all of us should applaud all of us." As if they had done anything worthy of any applause. Whole bunch should be blown to smithereens. And I thought she was going to keep talking until the end of this term.
Well, what else can you expect? When the limelight's on them, they just can't get enough of listening to themselves. Just a backslappin' good time for the suits. (And did I spy a tear atremble on Boner's ruddy and sober cheek? I did see him pull out his hanky there.)
