Please join PIPC for an innovative webinar on this page (see below) on Tuesday, January 20 at 2:00pm EST to discuss the importance of patient empowerment. As lawmakers in Washington seek to build a patient-centered healthcare system, hear from real patients and health policy experts who will examine what decisions are being made, and how it could impact patients like you. The participants in our webinar will bring their expert perspectives on the work being done to not only better engage patients in their health care, but to empower and activate them. Included in the agenda for the webinar:
We will highlight stories from two individual patients: Ms. Laura Roix, an idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patient (click here to view her story) and Ms. Letitia Brown-James, an epilepsy patient (click here to view her story). PIPCs Executive Director, Sara van Geertruyden, will discuss the components of a patient-centered health system, and the importance of empowered patients to drive policies that are responsive to their unique and individual health care needs. PIPC Chairman Tony Coelho will moderate the discussion, providing his perspectives based on decades of experience as an epilepsy patient, a Congressman, and a life-long patient-advocate.
