Now that the video of my wife & I filming that mean, fat cop who accosted us has over two million views... By Martin Hill http://LibertyFight.com January 17, 2015

This is quite an interesting story, and I just noticed that my video It's NOT Illegal to Film Cops. RESIST ILLEGAL ORDERS- EXERT YOUR GOD GIVEN RIGHTS has has topped the two million view mark. 2,009,082 views to be exact. I will be the first to admit that I do not like this video. At all. I don't like watching it and I don't really like several aspects of the way I handled the situation. This all started one day when my wife and I were on our way somewhere and we stopped to use the internet at Starbucks. At the time, Starbucks required a membership to use their wireless internet, which we had. It was a membership system which required certain occasional purchases over a certain amount, and we were happy to patronize the business. Then, all of a sudden, we're surrounded by cops screaming at me to freeze. Besides the Ron Paul sticker on my rear car window, I had two other bumper stickers on my car that day: '9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB,' and 'Same Shit Different Piles,' with photos of Bush and Obama. We never found out why the cops really came to Starbucks to accost us, or if there was even a real call. I had already filed an in internal affairs complaint against a high-ranking detective in that department only a few months prior, after he had tried to get me to stop filming when I had seen police violently push a little kid on to the ground.

The police investigators in the internal affairs interview had confidently assured me, on camera no less, that people were free to film police in public anytime. So when this obese, maniac cop at Starbucks said "it's illegal to film police in America" and that he was going to arrest me and seize my camera for filming him when he accosted me for no reason, of course I was upset. He claimed that he had gotten a call about "a woman in the back seat of my car who was possibly being held against her will." Yet in the video, notice that not one of the three cops ever once asked her if she was okay or if she was being held against her will! It's been over six years now and the video has over two million views (2,009,082 to be exact.) I have learned a lot since then, The Youtube experience can be very rewarding because it puts these issues into the public sphere and can help people learn how to properly exert their rights and protect themselves. Imagine two million people there with you, watching as you get unfairly hassled by the cops!

To be precise, there's five specific things that I did wrong. First of all, I was way too hyper and upset; 2. I talked too much; 3. I showed them my ID when it wasn't required; 4. I got out of the car when I didn't have to, and 5. I allowed them to do a pat down. Keep in mind, however, that this was over six years ago and I have learned a lot since then. I also have many more interactions with cops and have recorded them and posted the videos, which illustrate my evolution in these regards. I know much better how to (calmly, usually) exert my rights. [Such as these two: Obnoxious CHP cop tries to make people stop filming him (3/24/13) & Checkpoint Cop Offended When I Yell At Him About 4th Amendment (Article & Video).] Now that is not to say that I didn't properly exert my rights in this 2008 video, because I believe that I did.

On the positive side, which is the main point of what this video was about, neither I or my wife ever turned off the video camera. And I made it clear to him repeatedly that I DO NOT consent to a search of my vehicle, so he did not search our car. We never stopped filming the pig, even though he threatened to arrest us if we did not stop filming. It is not ilegal to film cops, never has been. Also, another plus is that I did not allow him to search our car. He never searched our car and he never arrested me or gave me a ticket.

By the way, if you resent me calling this pig a pig, too bad. That's what he was. I have law enforcement on both sides my family and I don't refer to all cops as "pigs," but some deserve the label. Since I am not afraid of words or descriptive adjectives, the monicker "pig" shall stand. [Article continues here.]

It never ceases to amaze me at how ignorant cops are about their own professions and what it is, exactly, that they're supposed to do.

Give 'em a badge and authority and they think that gives them the right to arbitrarily do whatever TF they seem to think they want or feel like doing at any given moment while denying others the rights to things that they are truly free to do.

Put into any other profession, this degree of ignorance translated to another profession, one more based on profits and P/L type stuff, these people would be sheer and utter failures and starve to death.

Gotta love government jobs. You can be the biggest fuck-up in the organization and still get promoted and pay raises. In terms of LEOs you always have the establishment backing up your ignorance and psychopathy.

This likely means that he made it up as he approached your car.

This is all easy to do. We tend to prefer to talk our way "out of" certain situations and talk keeps a "negotiation" going. It's first nature. I struggle with this as well. No matter how many times I go thru in my head my responses, I know that when the time comes there's a risk that I'll do the same things.

thanks, you were a few of the first people I showed it to after this happened. lol!

I did not join Google adsense until around 2011. It's my understanding that Google, Inc. does not allow users to disclose revenue amounts they earn from their products. So I will just say this. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO FILM COPS, join the google adsense program, and post the videos to youtube, LMAO! I crack up every time a cop tells me "turn the camera off!" because that is the benchmark of a viral video, and I literally hear a CHA-CHING! in my head and start laughing when they say that. It is an awesome residual income stream, for doing literally nothing.

Oh, I think ill go have a steak dinner with my wife tonite! another freebie! thanks, officer! LMAO!

I don't know why I have gotten very good at remaining extremely calm when dealing with situations like this.

most cops that I encounter now are actually nice, in my opinion. yes, believe it or not.

I once was surrounded by about 60 DHS agents and I began preaching to them like some sort of preacher about the police state and how homeland was named after hitlers fatherland, that we are not a HOMELAND, we are a constitutional republic, and they are all a disgrace. they actually asked me what my youtube channel was. and then im like "LOOK AT YOU ALL! you get paid for standing around me like this?" and the supervisor then barked, 'men, disperse!" and they left. it was fucking unreal and id pay $1000 to get a video of that if one existed. That was in 2010 right after this: this is how it all started.

I was sort of freaked out that they'd delete my vids so I sent them to Christine on her cell phone at that moment for safekeeping. I will never forget it.

a lot of sites seem to freeze up my computer because they have too many ads or popups or something.

but I think that the people are getting wise to the Zionists. all because of 911. I believe that they got too bold, arrogant, and cooked their own goose.

for example I think a lot of people including me would never have researched and found out the truth about the holohoax if it had not been for 911 and the dancing Israelis.

Isn't that the truth!

When government gains the power to control the use of private property, it becomes possible for the politically dominant to profit by high commodity prices using government regulation to constrain supply. It never ceases to amaze me at how ignorant cops are about their own professions and what it is, exactly, that they're supposed to do.

There is an article, maybe on this site, that says that they won't hire you to be a cop if you have any kind of above average IQ. And these days I wonder if they would hire one who busts out of single digits.

What's funny is that the cop in Martin's Starbucks video condescends to Martin telling Martin that he doesn't know the law as well as the cop does, but he keeps ordering him to turn his video off.

Right then and there I'd have challenged him by asking him how it is that he thinks that he knows the law better if the first command out of his mouth is an unlawful one.

These guys really are a piece of work. Most of 'em know just a few laws that they enforce constantly, like number too high, write ticket.

I think I'd shit myself in sheer and utter disbelief if they ever gave anyone a ticket for driving like they're drunk for simply using a cellphone.

Yeah, I would say they sound like a trained parrot but I like parrots and would never disrespect them.

Well, we can argue of what kind of animal(s), but I see little difference between them and trained animals. Seriously. The job of training them is identical.

Sit!

Heel!

Beat! Taze! Punish! Mindlessly write tickets for the same thing over and over and over and over again while simultaneously and mindlessly spouting off about how it's all for our own safety under the assumptions and with the implications that people sitting in another car, miles away, or making the laws are either A, more concerned about our own safety and welfare, or B, that they're even capable of doing anything in our safety interests. All they do, again, like trained animals, is slap people on the wrists proverbially speaking after-the-fact in just about every case and become more a part of the problem in doing so.

Honestly, what a sheer and utter waste of life, being a cop/LEO. I'd rather put peoples' trash into a truck for 40 years. Most seriously.
