It's had a healthier corporate climate for decades. I studied Japanese manufacturing systems in graduate school. It's a much more down to earth economic model. Of course Japan does not worship at the altar of mammon like the US does.

When everything turns around wealth as it does in this country, and at the expense of morality, things trend downhill very quickly. We're obviously seeing that now.
