The doors to our psych hospitals were opened up thanks to a law suit by the ACLU. They fought for the right of serious ill ppl not to be confined for their safety and that of others. If you Google the word DEINSTITUTIONALIZATION you'll be able to read about what I witnessed years ago.
Man, those are some lucky cops not to have any actual crime there where they work.
