Want... Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei released its next-gen MediaPad X2 phablet at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on March 2. The device will be priced at 1,999 yuan (US$320), reports Hong Kong's Phoenix New Media.
Mimicking the design of the Ascend Mate 7, the 7-inch phablet MediaPad X2 is equipped with a high resolution 1920x1200 display, weighing in at 239 grams and 7.18mm thick. It runs on the Android 5.0 operating system and has a octa-core processor.
The X2 standard version will be priced at 1,999 yuan (US$320) with 3GB RAM plus 16GB storage, with an upgraded version available for 2,499 yuan (US$400) with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
Pre-orders go live on Huawei's e-commerce platform Vmall and JD.com on March 17. The market release date is April 6.
Huawei announced its 2015 objectives in January, with target sales of US$16 billion and smartphone shipments to exceed 100 million.
The company sold 75 million units in 2014, ranking it as the world's fourth-largest smartphone marker. Its domestic rival Xiaomi,landed in fifth place with sales reaching 62 million units.
