The Second Amendment just got some (more) love in Texas

Posted by: Jon Dougherty March 18, 2015

•Concealed and open carry laws save lives, even if Democrats in Texas say otherwise

Liberals would love to turn the state of Texas blue, for if they were to accomplish that feat, it would virtually guarantee Democrat presidents well into the foreseeable future. But they haven’t succeeded yet, and honestly, their chances of doing fade with each successive Republican administration and legislature.

Liberty got another boost in the Lone Star state earlier this week after the Senate passed a measure allowing gun owners the right to openly carry handguns.

Already, gun owners were able to openly carry rifles such as the AR-15 semi-automatic in public and obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun. But Monday the upper chamber approved a measure that would allow for the open carry of handguns after the owner obtained a license from the state.

Typically, the measure was opposed by the party of soft tyranny; every Democrat in the upper chamber voted against it, while every Republican backed it. If it passes the GOP-controlled House, as expected, it will become law because Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, also a Republican, has promised he would sign it.

Texas would then join 44 other states that allow the open carry of handguns; only 14 of those require a permit. The law in Texas would take effect January 1, 2016.

So far, there have been few amendments tacked onto the bill but one of them would bar open carry on college campuses. We’ll see how that works out.

It’s obvious the majority of Texans prefer a political party that has an interest in constitutional government, no matter how many Democratic operatives work to undermine it and, ultimately, replace it. The Second Amendment is about a fundamental a liberty as those enshrined in the First Amendment, which is no doubt why it was placed so highly in the Bill of Rights.

The question for Democrats, sans any evidence that concealed carry and open carry gun laws result in “blood in the streets” and “frequent mass murders,” and plenty of evidence that they save lives, is why they continue to oppose this basic constitutional right?

What are your thoughts regarding the Texas open carry law? INFORM THE DEBATE below!

Texas needs to pass constitutional carry: concealed and open. This new law STILL requires a license (background check, mugshot, fingerprints, $$$) from The State of Texas.

They do have Conceal Carry in Missouri. That is another way for them to get more money out of you. That is true for sure.

Back when I lived in Chicago, I was making cosmetics deliveries for a woman in the old neighborhood. I would go to the black beauty shops on the south side. She had a purple fluid that would take the kinks out of the black's hair. I would deliver that stuff by the gallon to them. A few gallons at a time. By the time I was finished, I had $500 to $800 in cash on me, and I ALWAYS carried a pistol. Never had any trouble, but better to be safe than sorry. ;)

Don't misunderstand me about your tool/equipment considerations concerning safety methods but I have a question. All those side firearms are nicely strapped but where are the trigger locks?

Looks like you are ready for just about anything.

where are the trigger locks

Trigger locks are a made up thing that the liberals use to try to keep firearms out of the hands of kids. If you practice firearm safety, you do not need them.

One time, when I was in a bar in Chicago, an Irishman opened up his jacket. He had a pistol stuck in the waistband of his pants. I told him, "You better go put that in your car. Gun powder and alcohol don't mix.

Several minutes later I was talking to another guy, and there was this "kaboom". I looked over and saw the Irishman going from the washroom and out the backdoor. I got up and went and opened the door to the head. "Well, no bodies." The guy was playing with his pistol and blew a hole in the baseboard of the OUTSIDE wall. He could have just as easily blown a hole in the wall that there were people behind and killed someone. I told him so. ;)
