It is clear, therefore, that it is time to rethink traditional strategy and tactics when it comes to opposing a modern police state. America is quickly moving into a long dark night of police state tyranny, where the rights now accepted by most as being inalienable will disappear. I had a good friend lose his father last year. He was pretty devastated, I can only imagine how you feel. On the other hand, at least you were lucky enough to know him, to have a relationship with him, and you parted on good terms.

Exactly. Once I realized that he knew what was going on in the world, and I realized that he knew the same true stuff - things went great for us.

I lost my father in September, 2004. He was 88-years old so it was not unexpected. We argued a lot but loved each other, and we parted on good terms. He was always there for me and is always in my thoughts. I feel his presence very day. You father lives on in your memory and will never die. Best Regards, -Z-

my strong condolences lodwick. it also happened to a good friend of mine a week ago that his dad died. he took it real hard. and they knew he was going to die for a long time too because he was terminally ill and wasn't supposed to last this long.

I am extremely grateful every day that my parents and I were able to end our 20 year estrangement and we are still finding our way to some sort of relationship. My worst fear was that someone would pass before that happened. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone does the best they can with what they know.

Thanks for the thoughts, friends. For many of us, our parents were like gods to us - supreme, all knowing, all loving, and pretty much eternal...but with the passing of time, and gaining knowlege of our own, we realize that they are much like we. Weak, fallible, and not the perfect creatures that we should wish, strive, and hope to be. It's still tough when they have to leave us.

Even though I don't really know you I am praying for you tonight. I lost my father when I was 9, so I know what it feels like. I too lost my father when I was 9. My dad suffered badly too long of brain cancer. But I remember to this very day clearly as if it we only yesterday seeing my Dad on his knees praying to God and Jesus Christ with his Bible in front of him, with these words underlined in red: "If you believe on Jesus Christ and that God rasied him from the dead, you will have eternal life and spend it with God, Jesus and fellow believers." I have two fathers in Heaven now and I yearn to see them both very soon. Jim, your father must BE a great dad because his son, you, are a wonderful, caring and kind man. I am sure the gift of truth that your dad gave you was a gift that was well given and well used by you - I see evidence every day in your posts and words of encouragement to me and others. Because of my Dad, I vowed to raise a Godly son and spend all the time I could with him that my Dad did not get to spend with me. I have kept that vow and God has blessed me with a wonderful son who I named David, "beloved of God". If you are a father Jim, I will bet you are a damn good dad. And even if you are not a father, I still can attest Jim that you are a damn good man and I am sure that is because of your father. I look forward to seeing you, your dad and my dad with my son in Heaven someday soon. Jesus Christ's return in my opnion is imminent so we may not have to wait as long as others have had to in the past. All Praise, Glory, Honor and Thanskgiving to God and His Son Jesus Christ for their loving kindness to us and our fathers, mothers and sons and daughters and wives.

My condolences, lodwick. My father died many years ago, and my mother is quite aged. In good shape but her mind is confused. She's not sure who I am anymore. I know that even though we expect it to be coming sometimes over many years, it's still so hard to lose a parent. But you're right, he's in heaven where there's no pain or sorrow, and he's going to look after you from up there now.

Lodwick I am so sorry, it's very painful when a parent dies because they are the ones who love us unconditionally. My father died over ten years ago of cancer, and even though I knew he would die it still hurt a lot when he did, and I had lots of dreams of him for a few months after he died. It also felt like a part of me died with him. A year after he died on the date he died I was with my boyfriend and we went shopping at Circuit City, but I broke down and cried in the store so we left. I didn't expect that to happen, but somehow that first year anniversary of his death made me feel terrible all over again. I still think of him, and as he was a very bright person at times I wish he could answer questions for me but I guess that will have to wait. I believe that after we die we go to another dimension and see our loved ones again. I don't know if you know about NDEs, but there are many websites on that topic and it's very interesting, and can be comforting to look at after the death of a loved one. I've been very interested in near death experiences as I had a very strange thing happen when I was 13. Just know he is in a better place, and most likely you will see him again. I look forward to seeing my father again.
