Almost $2/slug if you can find 'em.
I'm not a fan of using slugs in shotguns, only because that's a poor approximation of a rifle bullet. Slug deer hunters generally limit themselves to 200 yds, last time I checked. In my opinion, a shotgun is best used with *shot*. A dual-purpose use would be to take a tip from turkey hunters and use modern turkey loads. First 6:35 illustrates the deadly Winchester Longbeard XR, it's the hot setup right now as illustrated:
