Paul's 11-hour speech on Wednesday in objection to the Patriot Act didn't seem to have the same resonance. The first time around, Twitter (the company) trumpeted that more than a million tweets about the filibuster -- many tagged with the aspirational hashtag #standwithrand -- were sent that day. This time, data from the Twitter analytics tool Topsy suggests a much more humble response on the Internet's social comments system, perhaps as few as 100,000 tweets in total.

When it comes to celebrity political endorsements, Republicans usually have to settle for an aging movie star or two, maybe a country singer if they're lucky. Hollywood's politics are decidedly Democratic.

... But in 2012, Ron Paul was the exception.

Paul was the Republican it was cool for (some) celebrities to like...

But many will not be supporting Rand.

.. According do WaPol these celebrities who indicated some support for Ron will not be supporting Rand: Kelly Clarkson, Snoop Dogg, Oliver Stone. And only lukewarm about Rand are Vince Vaughn and Bill Maher.

But many will not be supporting Rand.

Ron was a fraud, so is his son

I have often thought the same about ron especially after his campaigned condemned rons supporters for criticizing romney. Too bizarro for words. Plus he threw the towel in 08 and 12.

After 08 I did not support him in 12 because I knew it was a joke.

Ron paul, "rainbow girls", "job's daughters", freemasonry, part of the craft perhaps.

... The neocon-ish Rand just popped up again. He told CNN:

The other thing I would do, is one of the things we did during the surge. People talk about American troops during the surge, one of the other things we did was put a lot of money into assistance to the Sunni chieftains to encourage their support. If you weigh that amoun t of money worth what we're spending on other things, I think it would be money well spent to try to encourage the allegiance of the Sunni chieftains again..
