Title: Is ‘Charlie Charlie’ a harmless game? Exorcist says absolutely not

Lima, Peru, May 27, 2015 / 04:14 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- A game that purports to invoke a Mexican demon – known as “Charlie, Charlie” and considered to be a simplified version of the Ouija board – has gone viral on social media among young people, prompting one exorcist to warn of its dangers.

The game, which has gained significant traction online in recent days, involves a pair of pencils or pens, a sheet of paper, and the invocation of a spirit named “Charlie.”

Scores of short video clips, posted mostly by teens, show players shrieking and running out of view when the pencil apparently moves on its own and points to a “yes” or a “no” after they say a phrase inviting the demon.

Spanish exorcist Jose Antonio Fortea told ACI Prensa that the so-called #CharlieCharlieChallenge involves the very real, occult practice of “calling on spirits.”

In an interview May 27, he warned that “some spirits who are at the root of that practice will harass some of those who play the game.” Even though the priest thinks that players “won't be possessed” necessarily, the spirit that has been invoked “will stay around for a while.”

Fr. Fortea also warned that playing the game “will result in other spirits beginning to enter into even more frequent communication.”

“And so then the person really can suffer much worse consequences from the demons,” he said.

Catholic experts have noted that occult activity and the resulting need for exorcisms has reached a critical level worldwide.

The International Association of Exorcists (AIE) met for their 12th annual conference in Rome last October. According to AIE spokesperson Dr. Valter Cascioli, an increasing number of bishops and cardinals asked to participate in the conference due to an increase in demonic activity.

“It's becoming a pastoral emergency,” Cascioli told CNA. “At the moment the number of disturbances of extraordinary demonic activity is on the rise.”

The rise in demonic activity can be attributed to a decreasing faith among individuals, coupled with an increase in curiosity and participation in occult activity such as Ouija boards and seances, Cascioli said. (1 image)

Thanks for posting this, I had never heard of it. There is definitely danger when people think the occult and invoking demons is a game. Very bad stuff.

I wonder what the priests over at audiosancto.org have to say about this. They're very in tune with all the occult garbage in society, literature, politics, & govt and often give eye opening sermons on history , psyhicatr, etc. Many people who are lauded as dignified societal heroes were occultist pervs to the enth degree including helen keller,, the woman who wrote harry potter and many others.

Huge amen on that.

The topic of good v evil has always interested me. This particular exercise is new to me, but as our culture tumbles down the rabbit hole, it doesn't surprise me kids are trying to conjure up demons in new & different ways.

Throughout my upbringing, I was warned to not ever try to engage the dark side.

I took it to heart, thank goodness.

Bad mojo, nothing good comes of such activities. Idiots reap what they sow when they openly invite evil to visit them.

That's easy, and it's been a constant for at least two generations: children are raised by public school teachers and extreme-liberal entertainment stars.

J.K. Rawling is the one who wrote the harry popper novels but there is really nothing bad about them, a world of magic and magical creatures akin to Tolkien's Lord of the rings and the Hobbit.

Hellen Keller was the blind/deaf woman who learned to communicate despite her severe handicap. It is a good thing that we cannot see spirits, there are a lot around everywhere we go. Met with some people who were into automatic writing and ouija board and it was impressive. According to them, they are everywhere but mostly harmless and they do crave the attention. Charlie Charlie seems like a very watered down version of a ouija board. The potential for unpleasent things happening afterward is there tho, once called, one need to be able to bid goodbye and send then on their way so they do not stick around. Any spirit will pretend they are Charlie.

My Ouija experience has proven that, the spirit pretended to be my guardian angel or guide and an ancient Buddhist monk. We flushed it out through automatic writing, turned out he was bound to that place and could not move on and was very exited to be able to interact with people. He was tho, able to predict when and where the next earthquake would hit in the province, to the exact date.

Freaky stuff!

Indeed, about as freaky as a woman depriving a father out of revenge. You know your athesit room mate was just telling me this morning that you two were raising. "The kid" and that their is nothing i can do about it.

But this whole experience has truly strengthened my resolve and faith in God and i am supremely confident that the lord will reunite us despite the devils best efforts. After all my son deserves a.real father not a pretender that feels that yelling at a child over.nothing is acceptable. It is not. please.do not allow him to raise.his voice to our son. Oh and if you want to discuss some things queitly and or privately No need to play charile, carlito, or candy man, you can just pm instead.

No dude.

He posted on a thread commenting on how that tent with solar panel and water purification was a neat concept, you send him PM on how he abused and is abusing Léopold, these are serious accusations and you still wonder why I want to keep my home address private?

You started something, deal with the consequences. I will ask him again not to feed the troll but beyond that, deal with the response you got and leave me out of this pissing contest.

Lord knows you were decent to him when you thought he could do something about the situation, when that didn't work in your favor, you started to smear me to sway his mind and when that didn't work, you just got plain nasty toward him.

Like a true blue Narcissist, someone who cannot or wont do your bidding will get the wildest accusations.

What is sick is that those christmas gifts are being used as an excuse to smear. they could have been sent by mail or deposited at my mothers house, the one you went straight to and kept coming back until the cops asked you to leave. If you truly wanted Léopold to have those christmas gifts, you should have dropped them off at the first visit instead of using that as an excuse to further that insane smearing campaign.

Again, leave me out of that pissing contest, you started it, deal with what you got as a reply and leave it off the fucking board
