As you may have noticed watching some Latin military displays, there is a big south-of-the-border fascination with 30's & 40a era German stuff. It's a way of saying "F U" to anglo-saxon culture. There's lots of brooding resentment there against US/UK military triumphalism.
Little wonder with the way that US has screwed over every country south of US.
