On December 9, 2007, 24-year old Matthew J. Murray killed four people and wounded five others at a religious retreat center and a Christian church in Colorado. Prior to his murder spree, Murray has wrote "God, I can't wait till I can kill you people. Feel no remorse, no sense of shame, I don't care if I live or die in the shoot-out. All I want to do is kill and injure as many of you ... as I can especially Christians who are to blame for most of the problems in the world." 37 year old Jeanne Assam, a former police officer and volunteer security guard, was at church and took the gunman out.
