What the State of Texas Just Did Will Send Michelle Obama Into a Panic Controversy
In a refreshing decision that brings back common sense and exercises states rights, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller lifted a 10-year-plus state ban on deep fat fryers and soda machines on the states school campuses.
Miller explained to reporters:
Were just saying if you want (a deep fryer), go get one. Were not going to mandate what you do.
What Miller essentially did was pull back on government overreach by allowing local parents and teachers to once again make the decision on whats best for their particular children. He also argued that all the mandates in place including the ones put in place by First Lady Michelle Obama have not helped reduce childhood obesity in Texas.
Theres so many mandates on these schools and what they can do and cannot do. You just ask anybody theyll tell you its not working.
Its obvious the lesson to be learned here: Local parents know whats best for their kids at school instead of a bureaucrat hundreds of thousands of miles away. Michelle Obama and other control freak liberals in Washington will be shocked to learn of this decision, but thats alright.
Do you think Commissioner Millers decision was a good one for individual and states rights?

If you are fat, it is likely in your genes to be that way. But, eating properly and exercising regularly is a must. If you are a couch potato, and sit around playing video games all day, you are in big trouble. ;)
