Virginia resident Karen Cooper revealed in Battle Flag, a documentary, that she proudly waves the Confederate flag in contradiction of a new poll suggesting that the majority of African Americans viewed the flag as a racist symbol. I feel Im a slave now because the federal government does control me. I cant smoke what I want to smoke. I cant drink what I want to drink. If I want to put something into my body, its my body, not theirs, she stated. Thats tyranny! Citing Patrick Henrys Give me liberty or give me death speech, Cooper said shed choose death over slavery any day. As for the arguments made against the Confederate flag, Cooper stated she feels that many of them were unfair. Im not advocating slavery or think that it was right. It wasnt and none of my friends think it was, she said. It was just something that happened. It didnt just happen in the South it happened worldwide. But yet and still, she added, its only the Southerners and only the battle flag that has all the weight and the guilt on it. Its not right. Check out the clip below courtesy of The Daily Mail: This confession comes at a time where the public has been calling for removal of the Confederate flag from government buildings and retailers have stopped carrying items containing images of the flag. Liberals appear to believe that the best response to a social ill is to push back against the God-given right to freedom of speech. But what else is new? Please share this article on Facebook and Twitter if you agree that liberal attacks on the Confederate flag are misplaced.
