The north still hates the south because everyone loves the south and what we are and represent. All the songs are about the south. All the great food is southern-style. Great singers - south Beautiful women - south Great athletes - south Put up any Best Of check list, and the south will dominate it. Funny!!!! A friend who took some courses up there said "what on earth do these people have that's any good, except BEANS?" Meaning great northern or yankee, I forget. Ahh, Lod, that's beautiful. Vital point: the polls you mention. It's true over a remarkable diversity of subjects, despite some exceptions. I once attempted a catalog of all the freedom organizations and gurus I could unearth, and yep, they were something like 3/4 South-based.

And who can forget Massachusetts: every other home has a wizened/elder/hippy/ Birkenstock-sandal-wearing couple with the requisite Volvo station wagon. Such a legacy for a NE state!!!

The NE has super seafood and Italian chow, including pizza, but other than that, I cannot name it. We've only been to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket, so there may be lots we missed; but I doubt it. :-) I'm starting to become hungry again with all this grub-talk.

Every region has its own foods. Philly has Cheesesteaks Boston has Chowdah NYC has pizza Buffalo has Wings Wisconsin has Brats & Cheese etc. The South has its stuff too, just sayin'.

We've only been to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket, so there may be lots we missed; but I doubt it. :-) The question is how much seafood is safe to eat anywhere anymore. "Dirty Water....." Wow, you're sounding well heeled at this point. Friends of James Taylor, huh? The NE has super seafood and Italian chow, including pizza, but other than that, I cannot name it.

If I can find products of the North Atlantic, or from the Gulf west of New Orleans, they should be fine; but I no longer get anything from the northern hemisphere Pacific or the Gulf east of NO. Our seafood consumption has been more than halved thanks to TETCO and BP. The cost to visit MV and 'tucket is just a ferry ticket and once there are tour buses, bicycles, and motor-scooters to get around the islands.
