On the Monday edition of the OReilly Factor, Donald Trump did what he had to do to clean up the mess and the opportunistic feeding frenzy that has surrounded his comments about John McCain.
Trump was given forty-five seconds at the end of the program to address McCain directly. He said, Well Im going to say this, I have respect for Senator McCain, I used to like a lot. I supported him, I raised a lot of money for his campaign against president Obama and certainly if there was a misunderstanding I would totally take that back but hopefully I said it correctly and certainly, shortly thereafter I said it correctly.
He continued with a challenge to McCain in regards to his failures and grandstanding on veterans issues as well as illegal immigration, both areas in which McCain talks a much better game than he actually plays. The truth is that those who oppose the illegal invasion and an overwhelming number of veterans despise John McCain and recognize him as a traitor rather than a hero. Trump is taking too much fire and its clearly a fight in which he has chosen discretion to be the better part of valor.
Trump said, I would like him however to do something with the 15,000 people that were in Phoenix about illegal immigration. They are being decimated, these people are being decimated. And I would love to see him do a much better job taking care of the veterans, Bill.
Maybe that will be enough to satisfy some of his critics but its not likely. They cant beat Trump in a heads up competition. Most of them understand that if they are to have any shot at the Republican nomination they have to diminish or destroy Trump first.
Theyre unlikely to let him off the hook so easily, particularly Bush surrogate candidates such as George W. Bushs former lieutenant governor Rick Perry and Jeb Bushs Florida ally and fellow open borders subversive, Senator Marco Rubio.
They arent in the race to win the nomination or the presidency. Theyre in it to control the competition on behalf of the moneyed establishment elites.
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
