Earlier, D.C. Whispers reported on federal investigators request to initiate a full on CRIMINAL investigation into the Hillary Clinton email scandal due, at least in part, to Mrs. Clintons alleged and purposeful destruction of classified material she kept on a private email server. Apparently this development is but one of several now plaguing a Hillary Clinton campaign that has a candidate who often appears lost, confused, tired, and angry.
The term Clinton Collapse is apparently an increasingly common one these days for those whose job it is to continue insulating their candidate from media scrutiny and try and push Mrs. Clinton across the eventual finish line that is the Democratic Party nomination no easy task given Clinton herself appears increasingly unstable, politically speaking.
This past week saw campaign operatives trying to figure out how to break the news to candidate Clinton regarding her sudden drop in several battleground states that show her losing by wide margins to potential rivals like Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and Scott Walker. When that news was finally delivered, Hillary Clinton is said to have initially brushed it off.
Mere hours later she proceeded to lash out her handlers, and then went on to blame what she perceives to be unfair media coverage.
Get Amy! Somebody get Amy on this!
Amy being a likely reference to New York Times reporter, Amy Chozick, a particularly Clinton-friendly advocate at that influential publication.
A D.C. Whispers source had this to say regarding Mrs. Clintons view of the modern media:
She doesnt understand how it works. She still thinks the New York Times is the end-all, be-all regarding media coverage and because they (the Clinton Machine) pretty much control how the Times covers them, she feels she controls her own media destiny and when that doesnt happen, it infuriates her. She gets very angry very quickly and its a particularly aggressive kind of nasty on her part.
Candidate Clintons mood swings have become so erratic even those closest to her campaign are said to be hoping for the best while preparing for what some perceive to be the inevitable worst.
They know this entire campaign could collapse in a matter of days. Hillary Clinton is not her husband. Shes someone who doesnt enjoy the work of a long political campaign. She doesnt trust the process. Actually it goes beyond that she hates the process. Truth be told, she hates people. Bill enjoyed pressing the flesh. Ok, not the best phrase when applied to him, but he was in his element out there in the midst of the unwashed masses. Hillary on the other hand, she gets this look in her eyes that isnt so much about pressing the flesh, but wanting to burn it.
The Hillary campaign is setting about trying to match the fundraising pace of Barack Obamas 2008 and 2012 outings. They have publicly indicated their desire to raise at least 100 million dollars by the end of 2015. That remarkable figure is not merely about bragging rights though, but rather out of absolute necessity.
There wont be nearly as much free and positive press for Hillary Clinton as there was for Barack Obama. They all know that. Its going to take a lot of money to build and maintain her image over the next several months. Shes not a low maintenance, lipstick and rouge candidate. Hillary Clinton requires major renovations that come up often and that takes serious cash to keep going. Her campaign will be on edge and in crisis mode much more often than is normal. That will be a huge burden on all those around her, and it seems is already causing Hillary to show some premature wear and tear already as well.
