A Man Shoots A Home Invader, What Happened Next Will Leave You Outraged

The basic premise behind the use of guns in life or death situations is if someone’s in your home, and you don’t know who they are, then you’re allowed to shoot them.

That’s the basic premise.

The problem is sometimes police and courts don’t get that.

Take a look at this outrageous case.

"The man accused of shooting and killing a squatter Monday morning at his relative’s DeKalb County home has been charged with murder, officials said.

DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parrish said Monday afternoon that Terrance Medina, 39, had been charged in connection with the shooting and was already in the DeKalb County jail. The victim had not yet been identified, she said.

DeKalb County police are handling the investigation, but Atlanta police Officer Kim Jones told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution early Monday the incident happened about 8 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Channel 2 Actions News reported that the home’s owner, who lives out of town, sent a relative to the house to check on the property. That relative, now identified as Medina, encountered the trespasser and shot and killed him, according to the station.

Neighbors told Channel 2 the vacant house had been a target for squatters in the past."

What in the world is this?

A person shoots someone who is clearly a threat and they’re charged with murder. Does that make any sense?

This is case serves as the height of what’s wrong with this country. Our second amendment rights (along with so many others) are under attack, at both the state and the local level.

The rights we have, guaranteed by the constitution, are no longer ours to exercise. They are merely ours to remember it seems.

When we hear more and more stories like this it’s time to be worried. Especially given how hostile this nation is towards people who love liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

What do you think of this case?

What do you think of this case?

Depends if the "squatter" was armed or not. There's too few details to know what happened.

Agreed. There are almost no details of importance here.

Walking into a house you do not own and killing the occupant is not generally considered self defense.

This story is real sketchy on details wherever you look.

This seems to be the lastest available:

Georgia man charged with murder after fatally shooting intruder at father’s home

By Jessica Chasmar - The Us Latest News - Tuesday, July 21, 2015

A Georgia man accused of fatally shooting an intruder Monday morning at his father’s home has been charged with murder, officials said.

Terrance Medina, 39, was charged in connection with the shooting and taken to DeKalb County jail, police said. The victim had not yet been identified.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. at a home on the 1700 block of Ponce De Leon Drive, a local CBS affiliate reported. Mr. Medina is the homeowner’s son who was checking on the property while his father was out of the country. Neighbors said the home had been boarded up and vacant for a while, but they had noticed suspicious activity in recent months.

Neighbor Bonnie Wolf called the homeowner to say someone was squatting in the home, and the homeowner sent his son over to investigate, CBS reported.

Police said the victim entered with the intention to rob the home. Mr. Medina allegedly shot the man upon entering the home and then called police, authorities said.

“This case will be thrown out by a grand jury,” J. Tom Morgan, a former Dekalb County prosecutor, told CBS. “Georgia is a defend your castle state, which means you have the right to use deadly force to prevent anyone from entering your home. Even though it’s his father’s home, he has a right to be there, a right to protect that home, just as anyone else would.”

I pray this proves out in this situation.
