Want...

Beijing-based internet company Qihoo 360 and Shenzhen-based internet company Tencent have halted downloads of Windows 10 from their websites, as Chinese users have reported problems using the newly launched OS.

The companies said they will restart downloads after Microsoft has fixed problems with the OS experienced by Chinese users.

Many users complained that their computers had frozen or kept restarting after downloading Windows 10. Many users reported that the previous operating system (OS) in use on their computer could not be synchronized with Windows 10.

Microsoft started partnering with Chinese hardware and software companies to promote their Windows 10 for Chinese users in March of this year. More than 30% of Chinese PC users are still using Windows XP. Microsoft is hoping that its partnerships with Chinese companies can boost the company's popularity as both of their services have millions of users in China.

As one who proudly runs the other way from where any mob is headed, I deeply appreciate all those willing to serve as guinea pigs on each new version :-)

Most of the 'restarting' is because of the chinese alphabet trying to 'synch' with the Win10 OS after during the 'upgrade' they choose 'keep all applications.'

I've loaded it on 3 machine now (not my main one) and it does repeatedly reboot for at least five times during the 'upgrade.'

So far, it reminds me more of Win8 than Win7, which is a (-10) at the start.

Don't install it on a machine with a camera installed or it will ask you for 'facial recognition' and send THAT (either retina or face scanner) to M$ as your 'password' security.

I was wondering about the language factor.

Perfect example.

Both M$ and Apple still haven't found a way to reliably rebuild the Tower of Babel.

Do you mean to say computers don't work as well in languages with huge numbers of characters?

There have to be many forms of Chinese typewriter (or computer keyboard) but I can't seem to readily lay hands on anything about 'em.

Even though the 'upgrades' are written and targeted for the machines 'native language,' Chinese and Russians who want to 'keep' their applications when they U/G to W10 and who have apps written in English (which they use) will have the most problems because the OS will be confused about which apps are 'compatible' with those languages.
