Billionaire financier Carl Icahn just may have changed his tune on being Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary. “After last night’s debate I decided to accept @realDonaldTrump offer for Secretary of Treasury,” he tweeted Friday afternoon following Thursday’s Republican presidential debates. On June 18, in an appearance on MSNBC, Donald Trump said that if he were elected president, “I’d love to bring my friend Carl Icahn” as Treasury Secretary. “Seriously, the methods of electing our corporate and political leaders have become completely dysfunctional,” he said in follow-up tweet, adding in a third: “In both areas, we are in dire need of a breath of fresh air.” What did he mean exactly? Was it all a joke? As his social- media fans RT and favorite his tweets, Icahn’s office said he was not immediately available for comment. Trump, who leads the 17-candidate Republican primary field in polling, had suggested the former corporate raider for the spot on June 18. Icahn had demurred, saying “flattered” and complimenting the real estate mogul’s comments on the Fed but that he does “not get up early enough in the morning to accept this opportunity.” It’s unclear if Trump had made a formal offer for the cabinet position, which doesn’t normally come until a candidate has actually been elected. Trump has also suggested said former GE CEO Jack Welch and KKR co-founder Henry Kravis could also run Treasury. news source: newsmax

Trump Announces His Pick For Attorney General – Another Gut-Punch To RINOs and The Left In a surprise move presidential contender Donald Trump announced his pick for Attorney General naming Congressman Trey Gowdy to replace the lackey Loretta Lynch who replaced Obama lap dog Eric Holder. No word on whether Rep Gowdy has been consulted or approached but Trump continues to show his political and media savvy. This is his tweet from 27 July. While generating headlines and putting a smile on the faces of conservatives Trump continues to lay out his agenda in only the broadest of terms, but chucking out the red meat like this certainly doesn’t hurt his standing amongst the conservative party faithful. Can he inspire America with his brand of populism? He’s certainly trying. After years of Eric Holder and now AG Loretta Lynch, who is arguably as bad or worse than Holder, conservatives are relishing a little payback for criminality that has been covered up and even encouraged by the corrupt Obama Regime Justice Department. Just the thought of a Trey Gowdy at the helm of Justice brings a smile to the face of the battered GOP Faithful. Nicknamed the “Bulldog” Gowdy has a reputation as both tough and unrelenting. Certainly the Obama Regime would not look forward to an AG like Trey Gowdy who might even hold top cabinet officials responsible for the criminality they either allowed or fostered. The Conservative Tribune wrote: ‘ … it might be – satisfying seeing the South Carolina bulldog at Eric Holder’s old desk, prosecuting all of those Democrats let slide during the Obama administration. Adding to the angst of the left, Trump also announced that he would like old friend Sarah Palin to be a part of his administration. Can you imagine the nightmare scenario this would creater for the ‘Hate America First’ left. According to “The Donald” speaking of Governor Palin: “She really is somebody who knows what’s happening and she’s a special person, she’s really a special person and I think people know that. And, she’s got a following that’s unbelievable.” Is Trump the right man for the presidency and can he sustain his popularity? Only time will tell, but no one can deny that he has shaken up the race, annoyed even infuriated the the American left, and the liberal press but also many of his fellow GOP opponents.
