Title: Trump: 'I Would Look at the Good Aspects' of Planned Parenthood, But 'the Abortion Aspect ... Absolutely Should Not Be Funded'

Billionaire real estate developer and best selling author Donald Trump said the “biggest problem” he has with Planned Parenthood is that it is “like an abortion factory,” and that this “abortion aspect” should “not be funded by government.”

“Well, the biggest problem I have with Planned Parenthood is the abortion situation,” Trump told CNN’s Chris Cuomo in an Aug. 11 interview. “It's like an abortion factory, frankly.”

“You can't have it and you shouldn't be funding it, and that should not be funded by the government,” said Trump.

Cuomo then said that Planned Parenthood  claims that “only 3 percent of what they do and the money that does go toward abortions is not the money that comes from the federal government.  That they separate the two.”

Trump responded, “This is what I would do, if the time came, I would look at the individual things that they do and maybe some of the things are good, and maybe -- I know a lot of the things are bad.  But certainly the abortion aspect of it should not be funded by government.”

Cuomo pressed again, stating, “So you would take a look at it before you defund it?  That's what's being asked for right now. Many in your party are doing the opposite. They're saying defund it, then look.  You'd say look at it first?”

Trump answered, “I would look at the good aspects of it and I would also look because I'm sure they do some things properly and good, and good for women.  I would look at that.  I would look at other aspects, also."

“But we have to take care of women,” he said.  “We have to absolutely take care of women.  The abortion aspect of Planned Parenthood absolutely should not be funded.”

Commenting on Trump's view that perhaps some aspects of Planned Parenthood's operation merited review, Lila Rose, president of the pro-life group Live Action, told CNSNews.com that the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood's harvesting of aborted baby parts give no wiggle room to the organization.

"I don't know how anyone who sees those videos in full could suggest taxpayers should give one dime to an organization that engages in this type of human rights abuse," said Rose.

Trump has said that he watched the videos and found the practices of Planned Parenthood "disgraceful."

According to its latest annual report, Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provided, received $528.4 million in taxpayer funding, through “government health services grants and reimbursements” for 2013-14.

In that same timeframe, Planned Parenthood reports that it performed 327,653 abortions.

Planned Parenthood’s total operating revenue for the year that ended June 30, 2014 was $1.14 billion, meaning that nearly half of its revenue came from taxpayer funding.

Evey if Trump WAS the POTUS, the Republicans would NEVER SIT STILL for defunding abortion.

If the laws were just, no one would be forced to fund anything that they are morally against. If I had my way I would de-fund the military as it now stands. Things like PP continue because if the Reps don't scratch the backs of the Dems on issues like PP, the Dems might not scratch the backs of Reps on issues like military spending.

The GOP will continue to fund PP as long as they have their wars funded. The Dems will continue to fund war as long as they have PP and other welfare projects continuing to be funded.

John Howard says: There are 4 schools of economics:
Marxism: steal everything
Keynesianism: steal by counterfeiting whenever needed
Chicago school (Milton Friedman): steal by counterfeiting at a steady, predictable rate
Austrians: don't steal

Democrats don't mind war as long as they can have big government. Republicans don't mind big government as long as they can have war.

“But we have to take care of women,” he said. “We have to absolutely take care of women."

Why?

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken
