Double Medal of Honor Recipient and USMC Major General Smedley Butler's revelation on war ..
War is a Racket by Smedley Butler is a famous speech denouncing the military industrial complex. This speech by two-time Congressional Medal of Honor recipient exposes war profits that benefit few at the expense of many. Throughout his distinguished career in the Marines, Smedley Darlington Butler demonstrated that true patriotism does not mean blind allegiance to government policies with which one does not agree. To Hell with war.
In the lifetime of this country, it has always been those at the bottom of the social ladder that have done the bleeding and dying.
Andrew Mellon wrote this, I keep it handy as it reminds me of the attitude of so many Americans...
Perhaps it speaks for some here.
"""Morgan had escaped military service in the Civil War by paying $300 to a substitute. So did John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Philip Armour, Jay Gould, and James Mellon. Mellon's father had written to him that "a man may be a patriot without risking his own life or sacrificing his health. There are plenty of lives less valuable." ""
Of all the forums I've been part of I'd think we on 4um would recognize that our government is an Israeli owned and occupied territory. It is this foreign entity who orders mostly Christian men to fight in wars. To condemn the men while ignoring the Jew is to miss the forest for the trees.
The Jew was called Field Marshall Malcowicz. As soon as he could be gotten rid of, he was gone.
My last MIA friend was finally declared KIA two years ago. Shot down on his first trip over North Korea.
His parents received $10,000 for the life of their son.
He like the rest of us bear the guilt that the honest tax payers at home had to pays us.
This month I am sending my daughter to Holland, to the cemetery where my brother is memorialized , along with nearly a thousand other names of the UNKNOWN that lost their lives.
It grieves me to think that people can attach guilt to such.
Whew, a sad dustup occasioned by a great, gutsy video. I wonder if we can all agree, at base, that war is a racket -- #2 above?
Smedley Butler was "at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. During his 34-year career as a Marine, he participated in military actions in the Philippines, China, in Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars, and France in World War I" -- wikip. Was he right about war? Who knows more about it, him or us -- even you veterans, with all due respect? Let's be as objective as possible despite whatever skin we or our relatives may have ever had in the game.
We've been talking about rulers who don't personally lead the charge into any war they drag us into. It seems a routine humdrum thing in today's world, but is clearly an invitation to monstrous fraud and graft. There are sea changes in history, and one of them is that (as somebody noted here) politicians now send others to fight the wars they rig up, usually those poorest or too young to question anything (esp. after 12 years' indoctrination in fedgov schools). What possible defense can be made for such a situation -- even if (!) the wars have any validity?
Do we at least agree that the only moral thing would requiring anybody calling for a war to enlist in it first and report to the front lines -- from the president on down? (Aha, now we know what a VP is for.) The alternative is swallowing the notion that these jokers were in it because they actually loved us:
Everybody knows politicians are criminals. More or less universally, complaining about them is the default position in a society AND RIGHTLY SO. Big problem: As soon as any president says we have to go to war, this changes by 180 degrees. Suddenly what the politicians say can be taken at face value. Suddenly they're in it for justice and truth. Suddenly they would never deceive us for their own personal advantage -- or announce major decisions because they're personally being blackmailed (Wilson's adultery for one).
Suddenly a prezident is GOD once he's getting (sniff!) "OUR BOYS" killed and paralyzed. I don't think we should allow ourselves to be jerked around this way.
amerika has got to come to grips with one thing for sure -- it (like every country) operates on a purely emotional basis. This has got to stop, nowhere more than re uniforms and wars, because that involves life and death judgments against huge numbers of strangers.
I do hope we can all look at the video up top and say the guy's doing it for one reason only -- to help stop the racket of war. I had this friend who was super right wing on most things but refused to come across re the Jues. (Happens to be a passionate William Branham apostle, that was prolly one big reason.)
His main conspiracy focus was the Masons and even I couldn't quite believe him about how saturated our culture supposedly is with mocking admissions of it hidden in plain sight. But one day I said I was about to get my second college degree after 20 years. "Me, I'd never wear the mortarboard," he scoffed -- think about THAT masonry!" Suddenly it hit me why a mortarboard -- because the average college graduate is nothing but HUMAN HODS to the vermin running things!
He has to be right -- that has to be exactly why the strange headgear for graduations. Now think again about those DOGTAGS....... and the chipping the establishment is spoiling to do on both us AND ALL our livestock today. Sinister? What is the SSN except branding the cattle for easier wheeling, dealing and various modes of slaughter.
