The appeal of Donald Trump as a candidate is clear to anyone who supports him. He’s a talker, he’s unapologetic about his successes and abilities (unlike our last nominee), and best of all, he doesn’t cater to political correctness.
Trump’s appeal has garnered an unexpected fan: Bill Maher. While a liberal, Maher too has long been against political correctness from the Left. In fact, in the past he’s mocked feminism, teamed up against Michael Moore with conservative Christina Hoff Sommers in a debate, and told an Islamic apologist to his face that comparing radical Islam to “radical” Christianity is “liberal bullsh*t.”
So naturally, the politically incorrect appeal of Trump has gained the praise of Maher. Speaking of Trump on his show last Friday he said:
Even the Evangelicals want to be called on their sh*t. They are desperate to have somebody lead them, somebody say, ‘you know what, I just don’t bend to your bullsh*t.’ And Donald Trump, I gotta say, I don’t agree with him on a lot…but I kinda get him. We kinda been doing the same thing.
