For those of you who have never seen Charles Krauthammer get schooled - here you go.
Laura Ingraham just absolutely destroyed Charles Krauthammer on the 14th amendment and anchor babies.
In the late 1800s the supreme court ruled that Indians born in the USA don't have citizenship so obviously illegals born here don't have citizenship.
THAT is a good point. But looking for logic and consistency here? Lotsa luck.
So Ingraham is on the consistency bandwagon. But it still sounds like she's a supremacist warmonger deep down mebbe. She has simply done too much harm to ever trust her -- quite consistently for most the "War" on "Terror" period.
The eye candy grossly outweighs the ear candy and brain candy with her.
But looking for logic and consistency here? Lotsa luck.
There is none because that doesn't serve the wishes of our masters. That is why they claim the constitution is a "living document." Otherwise, it means whatever our masters want it to mean. It keeps changing to meet their needs. Or that judges need to interpret the constitution. It is not a foreign language so it doesn't require interpretation. Like the "living document" argument, that is just another excuse to say the words don't mean what they mean and that the words means whatever our masters want them to mean.
As the occasion arises, ask gliberals "What's the point of having a Constitution if we're just going to bend it to whatever you want to do at a given moment? Why not just abolish it and rule by decree -- isn't that what it really amounts to anyway?"
...Why not just abolish it and rule by decree -- isn't that what it really amounts to anyway?"
Of course that is what it amounts to. However, those in control of the people, the masses, the sheep, or whatever you call the vast majority of little people, need them to believe that the USA is a country ruled by rules, laws, justice rather than decree and injustice.
People are far more likely to accept slavery if they don't believe it is slavery and that they can depend of the courts, laws, and those they believe they elect to be just rather than unjust. Therefore, the constitution our masters can point to and claim that everyone, rich or poor, are treated the same.
Righto. Keeping the Constitution's corpse in view gives the sheeple the idea there's still a rule of law, which they cling to with the fake fervor they do all the Big Lies they love. This "living document" BS should have tipped them they're not in Kansas anymore and sparked a huge counter-counter- revolution!
Of course, the sheeple have no excuse for anything. I find it especially hilarious that they were so sick of these so-called wars that it was the most important issue, for them, during the 2008 prez election. Once Obozo became their mulatto messiah and they realized he wasn't going to change a thing from Bushocracy / was even more violent than Boy George and Poppy, what did they do?
They just let the subject fade totally into the background, and now it's merely a source of news fodder and an eater of cannon fodder. Zero public concern is expressed about it ever -- the politicians don't bring it up while campaigning and the sheeple thoughtfully don't either.
Oh, the FUNNIEST (have to laff or I'll cry) part of it was how disgusted they got with Bush over the "wars" and how they came to remember that war means killing their offspring rather late in the game. But then forgot it again and went along with the never-ending war jingoism in which we swim.
This "living document" BS should have tipped them they're not in Kansas anymore and sparked a huge counter-counter- revolution!
People are not very smart in analyzing this type of stuff. They haven't evolved to be. Therefore, the need, if any, is probably very recent. Likely such analysis had little or no benefit to our recent ancestor, the Stone Age cave men of 25,000 year ago (at least 1,200 generations). And, even 300 generations (5,000 years) would be enough for people to evolve.
I don't know that being able to understand this garbage gives us any evolutionary benefit. Do those with the ability to analyze and understand produce more living grandchildren than the population as whole? Unless that is or starts happening, it will never change.
