Title: Dolphins often seem to want to befriend us - do they know something we don't?

Why, despite our frequent cruelty to them, do dolphins seem to actively seek out encounters with humans? Are they trying to tell us something? Do they think we have something in common? In her new book, Susan Casey explains all.

It's very simple (thanks for a tour of beautiful vignettes). Dolphins are people too, except more good-natured and forgiving than we'll ever be -- and their lives are all-natural for real except for all the medicines and chemicals of ours they poor things are swimming in.

Animals are better than people, except when they're not. Seemingly, it's a rare mammal or bird (at least) that's not a natural-born fast friend of our species under the right conditions, each with its own personality. I'm wondering what exactly makes critters different from us anyway, much less inferior. It's said animals don't reason -- a clearly, ridiculously false notion. Even bugs do. Sense of humor and fun, sense of right and wrong, speech, musical talent, courtship rituals (some spiders even wrap presents for their honeys), every kind of emotion -- it's all there.

Dolphins are assholes. They commit murder and gang rape on their own species. Dolphins in captivity have tried to have sex with their trainers.
When wild dolphins are fed they become violent when the don't get some food.
But they are intelligent creatures, maybe they just think we're cool.
